Seriously with the climate thing. I mean you only have to look and see it's a problem. So is there a fucking plan B we're not privy to? Cos a lot of people acting like there is.

Well you'd fucking hope there's a plan B. I mean surely there must be. Our Prime Minister must think so. Otherwise he would have found a different way to travel between Doncaster and Darlington.

Oh my god. Lib Dem hold here again. Same margin. 777. Close but shows how important the tactical vote is.

Ah shite it's not actually in. Read the info wrong. Was a comment about last vote. I'm a gobshite. Same turn out. Thought same result not unthinkable.

Labour through and through.

My constituency (in a particularly remain-y part of London) saw a Tory majority of ~10,000 reduced to around 1500 last time out so hoping to get over the hump today. Helps that our incumbent, who was one of the few Tories in the same postcode as being sane and respectable, got purged a few months back and is standing down.

If I lived 100 yards down the road I'd be in another constituency and (semi-reluctantly) voting Lib Dem, because literally anything is better than the cabal of arseholes that is the current conservative party

For the record Labour did gain, fairly comfortably, as seems (sadly) to have happened pretty much literally nowhere else ☹️

Winning the election is the easy part for Johnson.  Governing, keeping his promises, dealing with Scotland and NI, negotiating Brexit without destroying jobs and the economy will be the hard if not impossible part.

He wont be able to con his way just blustering and shrugging his shoulders.

Well I keep getting told that now he has a majority and has manoeuvred Farage out of the way that it will probably mean he can go for a softer Brexit as he's also not beholden to the ERG. It's the best we can hope for.

Not that it was ever in doubt but Conservatives got 60.8% compared to Labour's 15.4% in my constituency, Wealden. This really does just get more and more depressing.

Having said that, I've just got off the phone to my friend who has recently moved to Norway. I asked to move in with him and he said yes. Fuck it, I'm gonna learn to ski and fuck off.

You gotta do what you gotta do and that worked so fair play. Just a shame the overall results are what they are.

As an aside, the turnout seems to be pretty good this year. Again just a shame its led to what it has. I've persuaded a few people who normally wouldn't vote or would vote for what their parents would to give voteforpolicies quizzes a go and vote accordingly. Yet again, I just wish the results weren't as they are.

In all seriousness though, I'm so upset.

As the polls close like a casket
On truth devoured
A silent play in the shadow of power
A spectacle monopolized
The camera's eyes
On choice disguised

Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?
Yes, a spectacle monopolized
They hold the reins and stole your eyes

Or the fist-a-gons
The bullets and bombs
Who stuff the banks
Who staff the party ranks

More for Gore or the son of a drug lord
None of the above. Fuck it! Cut the cord

Corbyn isn’t even doing the right thing and resigning immediately. On course for the worst Labour result in 85 years and he’s still wanting to remain in charge until the next election.

I know he’s popular amongst the average Glastonbury attendee but his style of leadership is not what the general public want. He should have stepped down two years ago while there was still a chance of resolving Brexit.

Hey. I’m eastbourne. We shipped out our Lib Dem fella who lives locally and is deeply involved in the area, and have voted in  a standard selfish Tory w*nker. I feel your pain. ?

Goodbye NHS and good luck to all those with long term and short term medical needs we are going to need it ... off to face some of the people that would have put BJ back in now :( ...

So Corbyn will be stepping down as party leader then. Had to happen after tonight really but I hope Labour doesn't veer too much back into the centre / almost centre right.

Is going more central a bad thing?
Clearly from tonight’s results the people of this country don’t want a left leaning socialist government. The only chance of beating the Tories is by appealing to the majority of the country. You can’t change people’s views especially when you don’t have the ability to control the media so the only alternative is a more moderate stance which people can agree with.

To paraphrase Labours campaign tagline. You need the support of the many and not the few.
