The albums I enjoyed the most from this year...

Fontaines DC - Dogrel

Rammstein - Rammstein

Underworld  - Drift Series 1 (only listened to it once and not in 1 go, it is nearly 6 hours long!)

Chemical Brothers - No Geography

Taylor Swift - Lover

Michael Kiwanuka - KIWANUKA

Amyl and the Sniffers - Amyl and the Sniffers

I'd go with the Chemical Brothers, No Geography as my favourite.

Will need to give this some proper thought but as a first pass the ones that jump to mind:

Friendly Fires - Inflorescent

Hot Chip - A Bath Full of Ecstasy

Sigrid - Sucker Punch

Michael Kiwanuka - KIWANUKA

Chemical Brothers - No Geography

RIDE - This Is Not a Safe Place

SOAK - Grim Town

The Skints - Swimming Lessons

The Specials - Encore

IDER - Emotional Education

As an afterthought, it really surprises me how much my musical tastes have shifted over the last few years; way more electronica and "pop" than there would ever have used to be.  I put a lot of it down to this place opening me up to stuff I didn't know existed and likely wouldn't have come across.

  3. Remind Me Tomorrow - Sharon Van Etten
  4. Purple Mountains - Purple Mountains
  5. Thom Yorke - ANIMA

Although a lot to listen to (and relisten to). Kano, Springsteen and a few others could edge their way in for me.

The thing that always kills me with these lists is when I realise how many albums I've not got round to listening to or even missed completely.

I know there's only so much time, and no-one has to like everything and all the rest of it but.....massive musical FOMO every feckin' year
