I’ve always liked the idea of a scaled down version of a west end show to start the morning off.  Chicago could do it.

I appreciate it might not work, but if it did it would be great.

Hamilton have done a few cut down performances at various events, very popular at the minute

I'm going for the wombles coming on, doing the theme song and talking about picking up your rubbish on-site, then doing Remember you're a womble and that's it

Edit: I've just seen they had the wombles in 2011... the actual fucking wombles.. i'm stunned and unsure if i'm impressed

Someone mentioned holograms before.

How about the ABBA hologram show as per this:

https://www.universalmusic.com/pop-superstars-abba-teaming-up-with-simon-fuller-and-universal-music-group-to-launch-new-digital-experience/

plus there is some weird youtube algorithm thing suddenly going on where this video is being pushed front and centre five years after apparently being released (check the comments).

Pop - yes

Left field - yes

Not done before - yes

Universal Music link - yes

Will it be on tour - possibly: https://www.eatmytickets.com/en/abba-world-tour-in-2019-or-2020-how-to-book-tickets-online

I like this idea.

Einaudi?

Leftfield but popular, signed with UMG's Decca?

And this. Although surely no-one would suggest he was any kind of pop star.

I don't see it.  ABBA will have loads of publicity when the lucrative (and difficult to stage) tour goes ahead.  I don't think they need a Glastonbury boost - it's not like Lionel Ritchie popping up to remind everyone he exists to buy his latest album/tickets for his latest tour - ABBA are limited on the supply side at the moment, they don't need demand stoking up.

Put it this way, if I was their manager, I wouldn't be interested in trying to put this on at Glastonbury - their new songs have been delayed by a couple of years because these ABBAtars are so hard to get right.  It seems too difficult and for questionable gain.

Nightmare fuel.  It's like Spitting Image decided to fuck about with The Dark Crystal.

Just a joke! @Smeble

@Smeble also downvoted me for suggesting that Queen without Freddie was just a tribute band.  I don't really understand why though to be honest.   14 albums with him and only one since his death and even that uses his recorded vocals.

Is not as if they've been pumping out new successful albums without him is it?

I was just being light hearted, didn’t mean to badger anyone!

Heard on the radio a while back when Bjorn was talking that it was a definite no to Glastonbury
