Past headliners that could play in 2020

Interesting thought experiment: were the festival interested in booking as many acts that had previously headlined to play this year, who would be feasible? Obviously acts that straight up aren't as popular as they were back then, so wouldn't need a headline spot anymore:

Likely: Stereophonics, Travis, Skunk Anansie, Manics, Shakespear's Sister

Others: Gorillaz, Basement Jaxx, Moby

Not going to happen: Levellers, Carter,

Arcade Fire

Additionally, it’s feasible, if perhaps unlikely, that some previous headliners that are also friends of the festival would willingly non-Pyramid headline slots just to be involved. Obviously Coldplay, but maybe Blur or Radiohead. Emily’s vision of extending the capacity of the Pyramid field has to be for a reason

Quite a few inaccuracies there. Falling into the trap of assuming the first line on old Glasto posters indicate the headliners

Surely the first line on the poster is the headline? So any artists name at the top of the poster should be considered, in the literal sense, a headliner?

I have a sneaky feeling Coldplay might get involved.

Headlining? It seems much more likely that they would open the Pyramid. Emily said in an interview that they were gonna move the tent boundary back. Wouldn't be because of a giant headliner, especially with these "Pyramid Size Subs".

Carter aren't an active band at the moment, plus i'm pretty sure it was just Jim Bob who played a solo set in 2010 and not Carter. Although Fruitbat has also played the festival with Ferocious Dog in recent years but i'm sure I read something about him getting in without Micheal's knowledge.

That’s just the way it was then. For instance, here is the poster for the 1984 festival, and the running order from the program. People have often assumed that The Smiths headlined, but they didn’t (don’t know why, they were very popular and drew a huge crowd), indeed none of the headliners are on the top line of the poster.
