wilko8
Is there any defined or accepted limit to the amount of tents you can pitch on your campervan pitch?
SecretFish
people put up pretty big gazebos so I wouldn't worry too much. As long as you aren't taking up the space for another van you'll be fine. We were.
morph100
Don’t go bigger than your caravan is a rough rule but just keep roads clear and don’t impeed on others space
JoeyT
There is a supposed limit of 1 tent per campervan but providing you keep the fire lanes clear you'll be fine with 2 or 3. Just be polite to the folks who are marshalling and they'll be flexible for you.
Johnnyseven
I would say that you can put up as many that will fit in the area given to you by the marshalls. The areas can vary in size from the official pitch size though. It makes things easier if you have a group of vans as you can consolidate space. If you turn up with 1 van and 5 tents prepare to be dissapointed. Just don't encroach on other campers space though (without asking) and don't camp on roadways, walkways or fire lanes. carlosj
The stewards have to keep space between each vehicle, side to side and front and back, so if you can help maintain that gap, that will help you. We got a little bit more space between our 2 vans for a tent last year and have had 2 smallish tents previously so there is flexibility, but not for the 6 people tents. H.M.V
We had two tents and our awning but kept them pretty tight and didn't take up too much space. No problems.
hfuhruhurr
As you're about to park up say you have an "awning" (aka tents) and ask for a bigger gap - make sure you let them know as you approach your space - that way they can guide the next van into a space with your gap preserved. Oh, and check with the guys behind you which side they want their "awning". We were perfectly prepped on year only for both of us to want the same space! We've always had a couple of tents (I actually prefer sleeping in my tent than in the van!). The stewards are lovely, just ask nicely and they'll help you out.
