Diana played her first show for 2 years recently, at Universal Orlando Mardi Gras.

SPOILER - setlist below:

  • I'm Coming Out
  • More Today Than Yesterday
  • My World Is Empty Without You (The Supremes song)
  • Where Did Our Love Go (The Supremes song)
  • Baby Love (The Supremes song)
  • Stop! In the Name of Love (The Supremes song)
  • Come See About Me (The Supremes song)
  • You Can't Hurry Love (The Supremes song)
  • Love Child (Diana Ross & The Supremes cover)
  • The Boss
  • Upside Down
  • Love Hangover / Take Me Higher / Ease on Down the Road
  • It's My House
  • Chain Reaction
  • Why Do Fools Fall in Love
  • Theme From Mahogany (Do You Know Where You're Going To) / Ain't No Mountain High Enough
  • Thank You (Jax Jones Remix)

Something along those lines would be great on El Pointo.

No Endless Love, no party

When she was announced for 2020, she mentioned that her setlist would be tweaked for the UK shows to include 'Chain Reaction' and 'I'm Still Waiting' which had both been UK no 1's but had done bugger all in the US and subsequently weren't staples of her sets. I see she did 'Chain Reaction' in Orlando - I hope 'I'm Still Waiting' will be included too.

Shame Lionel isn't around for 'Endless Love'. I mean, he wouldn't fly over the pond for one song would he?

He did love Glastonbury so who knows!

I think he's always wanted to sing it with her too.

I've just watched a few of the videos, she's not miming. There's a vocal backing track that she's singing over but that's pretty standard for these sort of artists and is less obvious on a big stage.

There's a video of Thank You where the backing track is a lot louder than on the classics (presumably because she's more likely to forget the words) and she's visibly trying to point out that her mic isn't working properly and she can't be heard over the backing track.

Videos of I'm Coming Out, Chain Reaction etc. are clearly live vocals. Not a Dolly situation here.

Thanks for this, I presumed it would be a backing track. Most pop stars (especially on the older side) use a backing track/backing singers especially for the chorus.

Well here’s one for you - Diana Ross and Tame Impala are releasing an album together produced by Jack Antonoff together that features:

Phoebe Bridgers; Thundercat; HER; Brockhampton; St Vincent; Caroline Polachek; RZA; Tierra Whack; Brittany Howard; Kali Uchis; Bleachers; Weyes Blood; and others.

The kicker being, it is the soundtrack for the new Minions movie…

I saw Lionel at BST a few years ag and he said he's never sung it with her live so as soon as she was announced I decided that Glastonbury would be the place it happens for the first time.

I saw this poster yesterday whilst walking to a cafe and thought I'd missed the announcement of a brand new festival with that lineup 😅

The best Supremes song is You Keep Me Hanging On and she’s not gonna play it, is she?

This is a bit of a rub. Mostly great setlist and it's gonna be a party, but missing an all-time top tier 10/10 belter there. Silly.
