The reason this was rolled out in the first place was because of the GlastoApp designed to hammer the site on ticket day. Prob doesn't matter what it says as the only way to circumvent it is to stay within the refresh limit. Could actually be that an app designed to do just that would be welcomed by the festival organisers.

I didn't get through myself but thankfully others in our group did. The concern is appreciated though!

I was thinking you could hammer the site 60 times in one second, detect when it was blocked and then hammer away once the block was lifted. It could submit many more attempts over a minute that way. But actually you’re right, there’s no need to detect when you’ve been blocked as you know that’s going to happen after 60 rapid attempts anyway. DarrenVonBoathook
Not that it changes anything but it looks like that the timer script isn't hosted on the seetickets servers.. After hammering F5 to get the busy page, the source code for the 'block' page is shown below: Looks like c.ststat.net have a standard javascript, CountDown.js, timer you can call with whatever coundown you like , 20 seconds in this case. gf2020.js looks like its google analytics stuff. You can put it all in a .html file and re-live the frustration of ticket day whenever you like
Pinhead
They port out the timer to a less busy server just so peeps actually get a countdown page. In Amazon you can do anything with the scripts.

Tijuana
I have about zero percent chance. Won't stop me. I pity the cow who is next to me for 4 days if I get a ticket
