Mad Cool Festival 2020

Recommended Posts

A point for consideration - Down the Rabbit Hole,  a festival which takes place in  Netheralands a week before Mad cool, will anaounce it's last headliner on Wednesday morning.

It's an alternative indie festival which it's headliners are: Beck, Tylor the Creator.

Werchter (Which happens the same weekend as DTRH) also should announces it's second headliner for Friday with the Strokes, on this Friday.

I'm really afarid it's a bad sign that Tame Impala will be one of the 2 remaining headliners.

Fingers crossed i'm mistaken and the headliners will be The Strokes + Liam...

What are the chances of Mabel to perform at the festival?

I hope also to see Celeste - she was amazing at the Brits.

I think Mabel is 100% possible. I can see her playing on wednesday :) I saw her on the MTV EMAs and she was great!

Tame Impala is never a bad sign.

This.

Tame Impala would be a surprising good booking at this stage.

My fear is to have a duo like Pet Shop Boys and Bad Bunny headlining. Fortunately it cannot happen, they will not shoot themselves so easily.

I think we are getting Liam for sure and the other one, let's pray for the best.

Although not a huge Tame Impala fan, they were superb in 2018.

Also if I had a choice between them and LG - it would be a complete non contest!

One guy on the other forum suggests the headliners won't be very guitar-y or "classical rock" if I understood that correctly...

That's right and apparently the issues with the site for 2021 are being resolved.

Azkena Rock Forum is traditionally a more heavy Rock oriented forum. This specific guy mentions that he has been said it is not classic rock bands which none of the artists we have been guessing here are.

In other words, we should not expect The Who to be added.

I saw Post Malone at Reading last year- very boring one track sort of performance. Wish I saw Mura Masa instead. Tame Impala I've seen a few times, always fab and seeing the new album tunes would be very exciting. Liam Gallagher I avoid like a bad smell... roll on Thursday.

So no Red Hot, no The Who, no Tool, no NIN...

If they're trying to secure a new site, should we expect some big pop names maybe to show they can bring in the audience ? I feel like it's been said a 1000 times but the lineup already has so many big names but with them trying to get a new home the bigger the names the better it looks for their business case.

imo and taking in mind what I've read there, I wouldn't expect most of the rockerish bands that we've been discussing

Would you, as a Spanish speaker, say they're suggesting no guitar bands or just no classic rock? If it's along the lines of "not very guitar-y" (but a bit guitar-y) then Tame Impala seem a very good bet.

Still don't think LG is big enough for this festival, beni yes, but not mad cool.

It's just classic or more 'pure' rock bands. Strokes, Tame Impala or even RHCP are still for consideration.

Nope, he has been told that the headliners weren't his thing, that he wouldn't like them (but I don't know him so I didn't know what “his thing” was). Then somebody said “so no very guitar-y” and he replied that he didn't know much more, that they told him that info when he suggested that, if they were struggling with the headliners, they could consider some classic rock. So basically: no classic rock.

That's all we know. The rest is pure speculation.

We also don't know how reliable this poster is. So guessing we shouldnt take it as gospel

For me, at this stage of speculation, the real and reliable info is that the insider guy in spaniard forums told yesterday, speaking about rise of prices, that " we will not beg pardon to potential purchasers when lineup will be unveiled", he told very asurely, so that,s the only bonafide word we got.

Rest is castles in the sky
