jonnytee1
Although not a huge Tame Impala fan, they were superb in 2018. Also if I had a choice between them and LG - it would be a complete non contest!
lukecork
unpopular opinion - I'd be happy with LG & Post malone. Not seen either of them unlike the other bands that're being thrown around.
clasher
One guy on the other forum suggests the headliners won't be very guitar-y or "classical rock" if I understood that correctly...

That's right and apparently the issues with the site for 2021 are being resolved.

Azkena Rock Forum is traditionally a more heavy Rock oriented forum. This specific guy mentions that he has been said it is not classic rock bands which none of the artists we have been guessing here are. In other words, we should not expect The Who to be added. DarthSaul
I saw Post Malone at Reading last year- very boring one track sort of performance. Wish I saw Mura Masa instead. Tame Impala I've seen a few times, always fab and seeing the new album tunes would be very exciting. Liam Gallagher I avoid like a bad smell... roll on Thursday. lukecork
If they're trying to secure a new site, should we expect some big pop names maybe to show they can bring in the audience ? I feel like it's been said a 1000 times but the lineup already has so many big names but with them trying to get a new home the bigger the names the better it looks for their business case. sariris
imo and taking in mind what I've read there, I wouldn't expect most of the rockerish bands that we've been discussing
DomenicoZappala
feel like that non rock comment has kind of opened this thread wide open now, ffs

If it's along the lines of "not very guitar-y" (but a bit guitar-y) then Tame Impala seem a very good bet.
pryce
Still don't think LG is big enough for this festival, beni yes, but not mad cool.

Strokes, Tame Impala or even RHCP are still for consideration.

Nope, he has been told that the headliners weren't his thing, that he wouldn't like them (but I don't know him so I didn't know what “his thing” was). Then somebody said “so no very guitar-y” and he replied that he didn't know much more, that they told him that info when he suggested that, if they were struggling with the headliners, they could consider some classic rock. So basically: no classic rock. That's all we know. The rest is pure speculation.

Big Kahuna
For me, at this stage of speculation, the real and reliable info is that the insider guy in spaniard forums told yesterday, speaking about rise of prices, that " we will not beg pardon to potential purchasers when lineup will be unveiled", he told very asurely, so that,s the only bonafide word we got. Rest is castles in the sky

JBVelas
Spanish native speaker here too. The guy who made the comment was wishing for Tool, The Who, etc. He never mentioned guitar bands globally, just not his specific cup of tea. Someone told him "headliners won't be of your taste". We can continue guessing non-stop. By the way, someone has just mentioned that a clue is coming at 1....but it will be about the new location of the festival for 2021. YunT
The biggest name will be Tame Impala. As for the other one, it's a british rock act I believe.
