Mad Cool Festival 2020

Foster the people have annouced 2 festivals in Europe early August. Reckon they could come? Personally would love to see them I've heard they're class live

Sure. I was surprised to see them initially rumoured for Reading & Leeds in the last few weeks but to see them on the bill is impressive.

Agreed. Much is riding on the announcements tomorrow to see what has the best supporting bill.

Rage will easily sell that day out, I wouldn't be surprised if people were buying weekend tickets just for them, to avoid disappointment.

They’re announcing more R&L acts on the radio. Third headliner is Stormzy

other acts appearing: Two door cinema club, slowthai, Courteeners, All time low, Sam Fender, Rex Orange County, AJ Tracey, MK, Wilkinson, Aitch, Migos

Ahh Stormzy a headliner indeed... No Eminem unfortunately, would've expected him! But Two Door Cinema CLub, Slowthai, COURTENEERS!!!, Sam Fender and Rex are really nice!

To me  - if i could get a day ticket for Reading, I'll go to see RATM  ( I live in Reading) but when i said one good signing does not make a good festival  -  I wasn't just on about the music.

Reading  / Leeds just seems to attract the wrong crowd for me and offers absolutely nothing else other than the music.

RATM + Eminem seemed more like a Coachella/Glasto budget.

Anyway, standard english festival mainly appealling to english goers (rightfully, I say). Will probably look for Wien's tickets for RATM - the rest is nothing of astonishing for a "european" .

Minus a handful of acts that's one of the worst line ups i've seen.

 

Glad i'm coming over to Madrid in the summer.

Definitely the worst R&L lineup I've seen in a long time, although Fickle Friends are playing and I'd do anything for them to come to MC

Well, Mad Cool is looking miles better than this, even without the two Friday headliners. 

However, it seems like we are getting Post Malone / LG

I really do think the PM LG thing is going to happen but the line up still appeals to me - ill be drunk anyway so ill have to sing along to live forever and get down with the PM crew unless there are some quality acts on the other stages, which there is more than likely to be

I've always feared it would be Post Malone, but because LG is at Beni I can't see him also being at mad cool.... Again massively wishful thinking on May part

I've nothing against Post Malone. I actually think his new album is pretty good. 

My biggest issue is that its a safe headliner (if he does play)  and the festival already has that kind of "poppy" vibe to it. I'd like to see someone a bit more "rocky" headline personally.

Either way - I think even without the two headliners we are spoiled for choice

Has anyone seen Royal Blood playing to a headline/large crowd?

I like their songs, and saw them four times in their breakthrough year (they were everywhere!). Their sets always started well, and it's impressive how varied the sound is from just the bass guitar, but over a longer set it felt limiting.

Have they managed to outgrow that in the years since?

yes, they were massive at werchter in 2017. played third down on main stage and the atmosphere was amazing.

Being from Manchester LG is bread n butter here haha, I'd also be buzzing with Posty.

 

Line up is incredible for MC and those two names would strengthen imo!

 

Tbf there are loads of names out there so not setting anything in stone yet, a lot of crazy moves have happened with festivals this summer. If you'd of told me a week or two ago RATM would be at R&L i'd of called you a mad man
