To me, it suggests an entirely (unlike the xx and Beach House) female-led band - 'they' and then 'she'. London Grammar is the first act that should be about next year that springs to mind from those words.

'They' can also be used as a singular (controversial) so could be any female act , FKA twigs would fit

Strength and intimacy suggest a (female-led) rock band that do some ballads? Wolf Alice or Skunk Anansie spring to mind first... London Grammar I can also see the strength there by the way. Florence maybe?

Not controversial in this sense tbf, 'they' can be used for anyone (including those very clear on their gender). I just think it's more likely to mean a group. 'They' could refer to a group of songs too. This is just what I think is most likely and popped into my head first.

Intimacy even more than strength for me. Also, I love Wolf Alice, but I can see Hannah Reid's voice being described as 'very special' much more than Ellie Rowsell's.

Haha i meant controversial in a grammatical sense more than gender but i do totally agree with you, sounds like a female fronted band
