Foreign Language Acts

Aloha,

Glasto frequently showcases many fine overseas acts. They are often my favourite acts to watch for all kinds of reasons.

I live overseas myself and I often think of bands that I guess have little chance of getting a glasto gig that they would absolutely rock it if they did.

So this thread is for your favourite acts performing in other languages who you’d love to see at glastonbury.

Mine is slowgold (SE) who I saw play on a boat in summer and were just sublime:

Here is a short clip from that gig

And the record version of the song they’re playing:

Honourable mention for Hun Huur Tu (Mongolia) who I also saw earlier this year who I think would be so well received.

Tinariwen, Orchestra Baobab, Natasha Atlas (Egyptian/French), , Feufollet (Cajon), Gotan Project (French/Argentinian), Fatoumata Diawara, Anda Union, Calypso Rose, Manu Chao (French & English),  Cigdem Aslan (Turkish), Calan (Welsh), Julie Fowlis (Celtic), etc...

Plenty of acts I love, often better in a foreign language to my ears

* Note...of course Welsh and Celtic aren’t foreign as such!

Also saw orchestra baobab this year! And tinariwen play here in november.

Also got to see ebo Taylor and les filles de Illighadad last year. There is so much great African blues/jazz!
