But regardless of that level of specifics, the basic point is that awareness grew throughout the decade, and so the acts that played in 82-83 flew under the radar a bit more. An easy example is that The Specials released Free Nelson Mandela in early 84, after Elton etc had played but before Queen did. Oh come on, they would all been aware of the cultural boycott.
