discgoesmic
Dates announced, there is a gap for the Sunday of Glastonbury (playing in Ireland on the Monday) - but as people have said, it's rare that they play 4 shows in a row. Well it would be 4 dates in a row.
kingcrawler
At least that Bellahouston gig can’t go any worse than Green Day’s last one there.

Diva Sam
and they do love a cheeky secret gig every now and then. Start the rumour mill

zero000
Can't see it happening. They have crammed a lot of gigs together so it seems unlikely. Not really sure they have much relevance nowadays. The 1975 would be a far more relevant headliner.

Matt42
Green Day are totally ruled out with those dates.

Start the rumour mill Don’t think that is completely out of the realms of possibility. Or maybe Billie Joe turning up somewhere considering he was on the farm for a day this time. But does seem the full show isn’t happening.

Or whatever the music they make these days is. I saw Green Day a couple of years ago on their Revolution Radio tour. Honestly never seen anybody play a gig that good. I have been to Glasto quite a few times. Seen The Rolling Stones, Metallica, Muse and other acts and nobody compared to Billie and Green day. Not even close. Personally I think they’d be a brilliant addition to the festival.

Gilgamesh69
Looks like they'll probably be at Roskilde festival then, as there's no Danish date yet. Quite happy with that as I've already got a ticket. Considering two of the dates clash with Glasto weekend: if you were gonna travel somewhere to see them, where would you go? priest17
Shows how little these bands know/care about Glastonbury that they'd announce 2 stadium dates whilst the country's biggest music event is happening. Not even in the sense the bands missing out on playing, they clearly don't think its a weird time to host giant music events when so many gig-goers will be otherwise engaged. Just aint that big a deal.

Glasgow on Wednesday. National Express Glasgow to Glasto. You’d be dead but it’d be sick.

So adding Green Day to that would just be a drop in the ocean
y0ungtitan
I know what I'm getting myself into by asking this (especially after defending the 1975 as pyramid headliners if they're playing next year) but there's no chance Green Day could be other headliners if they played, could they? Thinking along the lines of Metallica being booked for that slot a couple of years ago.

Just aint that big a deal. Potentially. The alternative is that their market is not going to overlap a great deal with Glastonbury and so it can be disregarded. Reading and Leeds would be a different issue entirely. Edited September 10, 2019 by zero000
