Levellers 2020

Don't tease me with this.  It's up there with the annual REM rumour.

I don't know tbh. They came back for 2010 and to my knowledge haven't been seen since.  Focus is primarily on BDs, and while I don't believe there's been a falling out as such with Glastonbury I do think they've gradually drifted away from what it used to be vs. what it is now.  The '94 set showing is more to do with it being the 25th anniversary I would say.  As much as I love them, they do like to focus on that golden period a bit - 20th and 25th anniversary tours for Levelling the Land, 25 years since the '94 headline set.

Having said that, they are working on a new album at the moment so it's not like they're resting on their laurels.  I also think they recognise what those sets at Glastonbury did for their profile, and there's definitely a connection there even if it's not as strong as it used to be.  Your average Pyramid / Other punter probably wouldn't give a shit, but I reckon there'd be a strong enough base still going to make for a great set on Leftfield / Avalon / Glade.

And I would be all over it like a fat lad on a pie.

The Levellers playing Levelling The Land in full would be a dream set.

Nah, saw them do it already on the 20th and 25th anniversary tours

You could have 30th anniversary run through of Weapon Called the Word, 25th of Zeitgeist, or 15th of Truth & Lies? :D

Haha :)

It's a fair point though, I didn't realise they'd done that. Ah well, as long as they throw in Far From Home and The Road, I'd be happy.

I joke of course. I'd still dance like a lunatic to the whole thing for the third time of asking!  But as good as LTL is, focusing on it does miss out some absolute belters from the rest of the catalogue.

The Levellers closed Beutiful Days with their classic '94 Glastonbury set this year.

A message that they want to be back for the 2020 anniversary perhaps?

Does today's Glastonbury punter 'get' The Levellers even?

Who here would be up for it?

And wasn’t it amazing?! My ears have just about recovered! They’d get a big crowd for sure.

Thanks :) was it you that told me on the other thread too :)

Yep, get there next year. It’s a fantastic festival. Someone put a highlights reel on the BD part of efests, check it out.

And I can’t even tell you how good Skunk Anansie were, words fail me.

Got to say that I hope they put them somewhere else if it does happen. I wouldn't see them getting a decent slot, and it would absolutely break me to see them performing to a pit of disinterested people camped out for the day and the blanket and chair brigade.

I'd much rather have them on a smaller stage as either sub or headliner. But that's just me.
