Buying Tickets Late

Is it pretty much true to say that excluding Glastonbury you can get tickets to major festivals very near to the event ?

Asking for next year as i regret some early buying now.

It depends on the festival. Most major festivals like Isle of Wight, Download etc don't usually sell out and it's normally the smaller/mid sized ones that do sell out although most small-mid sized fest don't actually sell out. However some fests offer cheaper tixs if you buy them early like Boomtown Fair.
