Corey does strike as the sort who'd be open to playing, I think it'd be other stage or nothing for them though. Just don't see them playing halfway down the Pyramid in the middle of the day.

As a complete aside (kind of) have you seen Corey's appearance on QI?  It certainly points to a chap who's open to doing stuff you might not expect!

I think Slipknot are top of the bill or not at all. I'm not a fan but caught a fair slice of them at Download this year, and what a racket!? But the thing is, with an intricate stage design and 9 mouths to feed, the financial implications of a slipknot show cannot be discounted. They probably cannot break even unless they charge a hefty fee. I think that means inevitably they won't be at the farm any time soon.

I could see Stone Sour doing it, but I think that would engender shrugs from most punters.

Slipknot could definitely do it without jeopardising their headline status. Really depends if they see themselves as the same as Metallica.

Talk of Slipknot in the rock slot is nonsense really. They're headliners wherever they go, why would they play a festival where they'd have to take a massively reduced fee to play third down and where they don't have any particular affinity with.

The problem is you could have said that about plenty of acts that have done it over the years. Why would Janet Jackson do exactly that same thing? (in hindsight, she probably shouldn't have)

That new Slipknot songs slap, I'd be well happy with them on the farm. I can't really see it though, why would they want to bring their music to the pyramid crowd?

I don't think they're headliners either. Played 3rd down at R&L in '08 and you could argue they were bigger at that point. Obviously time has passed and they've headlined Download this year but I still don't think they're clear cut headliners (if they randomly decided to play).

They pulled out of R&L that year - but I do agree that they might play this slot / Other headline if it fits in with their plans.

I can’t find dates anywhere else but I noticed the Facebook event lists Slipknot’s Cardiff date as June 25th.

If that's a real date that someone leaked and not just a scam page to get people to click Going on, then the Birmingham version of the page - which has the glastonbury friday as its date - would put paid to the rock slot.
