I feel like everyone in this thread needs to do some sort of Efests olypmics on the Wednesday - maybe some arm wrestling and 100m dash etc, with pints awarded obviously

Farmers walk with a crate of cider under each arm!

Sadly no further than the living room. I tried them on and they are too narrow at the toe for me. Back to Brooks for this gal.

And so back to soggy trainers in front of the fire too until I can find some GTX in the right price bracket.

On a positive I did manage to dodge out of the way of Michael in his red Land Rover today, ...twice. so thats a nice start to Thursday.

Brooks are my favourites as well. The curse of having wide feet. I've bought some Brooks Walking shoes for my walking marathon and they are very comfy!

I used to have Asics but then they went super narrow so had to ditch buying them. It’s Brooks all the way nowadays.

Might give them a punt then if I can find a pair with the right price.

Mine were a bit of a treat to myself. Mainly down to previous knee issues when running  and I didn't want that to be a reason not to do it. Have to say they were worth it, although it did make me wince when I paid for them!

Yes I bought some asics for the gym because they were a bargain and were rainbow coloured but they are very narrow any more than 1 class and a walk home would probably be too much for me.

ASICs change with series, the 2018 were narrow, the 2019 onwards were better.  I am lucky there is a factory outlet in Street and you can wander in and try pairs.  I stopped buying them because the AW18 were narrow, I now have 2 pairs of 2019 that are much better.  As with any running shoes, they vary with time and need to be tried on if possible.

And big up to all that are losing such an impressive amount of weight and putting the effort in.  Inspiring and worthy of much praise. it can be quite literally life changing.

Yes my favourite track in Clubbercise is most people's least favourite because there's lots of up and down moves and it's pretty full on. I was telling somebody that I think I like it so much because this time last year there isn't a chance I would have been able to do it. As I was so overweight and I'd just been diagnosed with sciatica. I still have lower back problems (once you have a weakness it's always there) but with my exercise, healthy eating and Pilates classes I am so much more mobile.

Just need that re-sale ticket now it will kill me if I am the fittest I have ever been in my life and I don't get to go to the farm :(

Bit of a setback this week - been hardcore on the networking/hospitality freebies, so been pissed, hungover or on the move for a lot of it. Have resigned myself to the fact that I will be going to the gym tonight after work instead of the cinema!

In an ideal world I would be going to Supergrass with the wife - but that's just really bad timing!

My knee has been dodgy since October - I just woke up one day and it was sore and it's never really been right since so I haven't exercised. Rested it and have gone to the doctor's who's referring me to the Orthopaedic hospital. It's just stood up to 10 day's skiing fine but going for a longish walk in the mountains in snow seems to have made it flare up.

Upshot is - I'm overweight, unfit with a dodgy knee but am going to start a fitness regime on my return from hols. Canadian meals are not the most healthy!

Kind of perfect training for the festival today, long walk, lots of mud, ended up stumbling around in the dark having got totally lost 😂

Had been aiming for a 16km walk but ended up being 22km ‘cos I didn’t work my route out properly. Legs pretty sore... may not be able to walk tomorrow!

I had a pretty similar walk at the weekend, lots of mud and an overflowing river so I had to wear wellies (I hate wellies)

Then ended up at the pub with lots of cider so all in all good Glasto training less good marathon training!  😂

My husband feels your pain. He too has been referred to an orthopaedic specialist for knee pain. The GP thinks he has damaged his cruciate. He has an appointment this week. Having to convince him that trying to do everything I do perhaps isn't wise in the circumstances.

Monday 9th March

Week 8 Weigh In

16st 13lb - 2lbs loss - Total Loss - 2st 1lb

Thought there was a chance this wasn’t happening this week, had a crap week, reached for the chocolate but then got back on the treadmill on Saturday and beat the 2 mile personal best again to 18mins 13secs. Going to up it to 5km over the next couple of weeks.

Well done. We all have wobbles occasionally and I actually find the more relaxed I am about the fact that I am not going to eat perfectly healthy all the time the better I have been. The key is not letting a bad day or a bad weekend turn into a bad week, bad month and that's what you have done.

gwan lad - decent work and also echo @gigpusher's sentiments about not letting a bad day turn into a bad week etc, although with me its more about staying off the naughties rather than food
