Yeesh, funeral tomorrow for one of my rugby pals. Only 50 :(

But we'll share beers and stories afterwards, and remember him for being a great player, a wonderfully funny bastard, and an all round good egg.

It sucks, but remembering the good bits is just how you have to deal with it.

Evening pets, I've just discovered Imperial Leisure are subbing Youngblood Brass Band in Newcastle on Saturday, so I'm off to see them. I love an unexpected night of music. Transport is a nightmare! Surely any city centre should have late trains and buses? It's looking like a sober night.

Welcome to my world! Although living in the sticks it's kind of my own fault :D

If they're playing anywhere near you, definitely recommend seeing Spector on their current tour. Outstanding tonight

Sorry to hear about your friends @guypjfreak and @Quark

I've been away from the site for a little bit to keep my sanity.

My daughter's operation went well, she has had a few down days since but seems to be managing. I was meant to go to Portugal yesterday with a few friends but didn't go as my other daughter took ill, so I didn't want to leave them. Which turns out it a good job, as my wife has had to go to out of hours with suspected appendicitis!

A turbulent few days!

Ah it's calming down, thank for asking.

My eldest is run down with a viral infection, my youngest is soldiering on post op and my wife's back home pending investigation.

Warm handshakes.

I hope you're OK with all of this too.

If anyone gets a bad appendix, I can recommend getting one on the Isle of Man. My wife took her daughters and mum off for a week there 2 years ago, she ended up having a series of bad seizures and my youngest step daughter almost had a burst appendix. The hospital were fantastic and specialists were flown out from Liverpool. My youngest got operated on and had an iPad with movies for the week and my wife got great support in finding new tablets.
