The Crowds 2019

Does anyone else feel like it seems somehow busier this year? Everywhere seems rammed. Shangri La wasn’t much fun on Wed/Thurs, due to the insane number of people.

The Temple queues were eye watering

Hopefully Pangea evens things out a bit.

It's a probably a combination of a number of factors. First festival off a fallow year, new features to see, better weather than expected, the anticipation of hottter/humid weather later in the weekend and wanting to explore as much as possible before the main stages and music starts today and a lot of newbies from the sounds of it.

Couldn’t get to Glade for George Fitzgerald, so made my way for On Loop at Stonebridge where the queue was massive, no luck again. Decided to start heading to Beat Hotel, stopped for Prospa and a bit of Jon Hopkins at BBC and for Avalon Emerson I managed to actually get in a tent. Hopefully today will get better, cause it was absolute mission last night.

Tried to get into the blind tiger last night to watch gentleman's dub club.. ended up leaving before they started. Absolute chaos.

They had put barriers up to stop people accessing it from one side but people behind couldn't see so we're pushing to get through, lucky there wasn't a crush.

Felt sorry for the security guy, 1 bloke trying to hold back probably neatly 500 people

Think it's a number of factors. People flock around the places playing music now, there's less interest in the "extra stuff" like the Green Fields areas - especially as well a lot of places ask for bookings for massages, palm readings, so as soon as these get booked people don't care about it either.

Added to that is the rise in ppl going on the Tuesday night and queuing up for ages to get in on the Wednesday. I remember when most ppl wouldn't go until the Wed afternoon at the earliest, now it's a mad rush from the very start.

Won't get any better if the festival increases its capacity next year with 7k extra ticketholders there!

Yeah, I remember seeing Rationale on the Thurs evening. The change overs between sets was manic at Williams Green and the security had no chance
