So, if you don't want to go far away from Zagreb, I would suggest Istria or northern Dalmatia (Zadar, Šibenik maybe) (cca 2 hours). But I prefer the south. And I always use BlaBlaCar because it is the fastest and the cheapest way to get there. (cca 15-20 euros). Zadar/sibenik 2 hours? I don’t wanna ever be in a car with you! 😂

Even though 2 hours to Zadar is not impossible. 🤷♂️😉

I went last year and visited the island of Krk. It was very beautiful and I can recommend it strongly. 2-3 hours drive from the airport. I'd recommend all the coast, agree to Istria and Krk, your choice would depend mostly on where your flight back will depart imo.
eivomracsy
thanks for your advice to all. i'm glad its not that far at all. coming from austria i want to avoid flying, as it makes no sense, at least to come back to my place. i hope it all works out

Nice straight forward highway to anywhere. Only thing you wanna plan is if you take an island with a ferry you’ll need to look up a cheap enough place to leave the car. Krk as mentioned by many people is easy as there is a bridge to it so you can drive straight over. It isn’t the most beautiful island in my opinion but it’s nice. If you want something not on the coats krka national park and plitvice lakes are nice. Istria is great for food and a bit more upmarket than dalmatia. Basically you can’t go too wrong and that period is pretty nice as it’s before the schools break out and the tourist hoard decend...

Not sure how strict they are on this, but FYI: "Changing the name of ticket holder is possible after purchase but with an additional fee applied. The fee charged for the name change on the already purchased ticket equals the difference in the ticket's face value on the date of purchase and the date of the ticket holder's name change, plus an additional 5 EUR transaction fee on top." In the past years I had some spare tickets of friends of mine and there weren't any problem at all.

You’re going to struggle as it usually doesn’t sell out. So will be hard to find someone who’d rather buy yours than via the website.
