Tom White
I thought the policy was no glass allowed on site. But some of the regulars here will know better than me
tarw
No all caravans are searched for glass. Decant it into plastic

fred quimby
Hide it well. Don't take it on site. If you do decant it into plastic bottle . Onsite I mean away from campervan field Edited June 21, 2019 by fred quimby
dartmoordog
No, you'll have to decant it into a plastic bottle. Unless you can hide it well in your van. Sometimes the searches can be quite thorough, other time cursory.

No they can search the caravans as well and when they do the main thing they seem to be bothered about is glass. Whenever we have been checked it's the one thing they always ask about. ambientcoast
No glass anywhere on site, including the camper van fields. Your van will be searched - possibly thoroughly - when you arrive. Last time I arrived in a van, I practically had to empty it.

Still on farmland though and other farmers also have animals. Nobody ever intends to break glass and being in a caravan doesn't give you special powers not to break it. Best off just decanting it into plastic.

Makes perfect sense. Just hadn't thought about it beyond "the fence" really

uscore
you could bring a plastic bottle and if they find your glass in a search, decant it then. or just decant it upfront.

tumbles
On the plastic front - I presume we can still bring in plastic despite the policy on site of single use? I've got a 5ltr bottle I usually fill up with water and keep in tent for morning cuppa etc. That's still ok right?

waltere
Yeah by all accounts bringing in plastic bottles is still acceptable, just that none will be sold on site EDIT Replying to @tumbles Edited June 21, 2019 by waltere
