I think you can into the camper fields, just not on site. 

No they can search the caravans as well and when they do the main thing they seem to be bothered about is glass. Whenever we have been checked it's the one thing they always ask about.

I did not know that. Always assumed they were acceptable as outside the fence.

Still on farmland though and other farmers also have animals. Nobody ever intends to break glass and being in a caravan doesn't give you special powers not to break it. Best off just decanting it into plastic.

Oh yeah, not arguing the toss at all. Makes perfect sense.  Just hadn't thought about it beyond "the fence" really :)

Yes just say it because I always make sure not to take any but you do seem to get some caravan folk who think they don't have to worry about it.
