That brings me onto another point... I'm much more of a beer and lager man. I know that ME supposedly favours cider and so doesn't put much effort behind varieties of beer and lager but sureeeeeeely there must be somewhere in the hoards of traders that serve something other than the official festival lager.

Carlsberg is a slight upgrade from tuborg at least so that's something.

I thought there were some dedicated real aley kind of tents? Not my thing, but I've definitely seen more than just the sponsor's lager about.

This year we also welcome two new bars – The Taphouse (situated in Leftfield) and The Elephant Bar (near the Pyramid Stage). The Taphouse will be selling a thirst-quenching range of craft keg beers and real ales straight from cask, bringing great beer and tunes to the heart of the markets! The eye-catching Elephant Bar is a new venue not to be missed. Two giant elephants stand guard, whilst refreshing craft beer and DJ’s await those who dare to discover this bar’s secrets.

The Cockmill

This rustic, traditional bar filled with cosy snugs offers the finest choice of craft and real ales at Glastonbury Festival. Located in the heart of the Acoustic Field, the selection of twelve ales, including three local Somerset ales, will be sure to keep any beer aficionado happy. Away from the hustle and bustle of the main Festival, the Cockmill also offers beautiful panoramic views of the site, and one of the best night time scenes.

The Park Bar
This fantastically multi-coloured venue features authentic wooden seating and displays, with brilliant views across The Park area. This bar specialises in a range of local ales, making The Park Bar the place to be in this iconic field. Just sit back, put your feet up and relax!

The Cornish Arms
This Cornish Ale Pub is situated in the heart of Glastonbury main town and just beside the Left Field Stage. The bar will be serving a selection of fine festival beverages including Cornish ales like Proper Job, delicious rum cocktails and espresso martinis. A welcome space to sit down, put your feet up and listen to the DJ’s. An easy going meeting spot in the middle of town for further adventures to the main stages and beyond. Don’t forget DJ Nipsy’s ‘Bloody Mary Dub Breakfast’ in the mornings and JFB (UK DMC Champion) on Sunday night after the pyramid closes.

The Open Arms
Located just off the main drag opposite the Greenpeace field The Open Arms is the Festival’s newest live music venue. As well as a bar offering cocktails and ales there will be coffee and mocktails for those wanting to stay focused. If you or your band would rather be on stage than off it, drop in and ask for the stage manager.

Theatre Bar
Visiting the Theatre Bar has become a tradition for so many Glastonbury ‘regulars’. Serving Craft Beers and premium strength Lagers plus local Cask Ales from 10am till 3am – come along to meet great friends old and new.

Elephant  Bar
Pack your trunks and get down to the brand-new bar on the bloc – Elephant Bar. It’ll be on everybody’s Glastonbury ‘must visit’ list this year. Serving a range of World Craft and European Beers including Brooklyn New York and London Fields, this is a great meeting place to join your mates before going to The Pyramid or Other stage; meet under the iconic Elephant Heads.

TRICKETTS
At the very top of the site, Above The Park and adjacent to the Glastonbury sign, is ‘Tricketts’, a wooden shack serving ales, great wines as well as all the usual bits and pieces. A trip up the hill is a must to check out THE best view in town.

My first time so this might sound naive, but where does one get fresh milk in the mornings ?

The milky milky trailer drives around all of the campsites. And there are loads of stalls in the markets
