Visit a new stage every year

(This year is Mandala stage, where is it? xD)

Red and yellow one in green fields I think.

There is a white and green one in there which is a nice chill out on Wednesday/Thursday,  slightly quirky and acoustic stuff. Cake and tea, all very civilised to start the day!

What’s happened here then?

im fairly sure i ate a square pie at the 2017 event.

They went bust a few years ago now. They were quite the trailblazers on the London casual dining scene with that development sadly.

Barnaby Sykes is decent - according to the food thread they’re between Leftfield and West Holts. Here’s a pic of one I ate at Bestival a few years back..:

Don't pitch your guy ropes at full extension away from your tent.  Try to be mindful of the space.

Thanks in advance as this will stop drunk future me tripping over them and falling into your tent...

Don't use your guy ropes at all. They're for wind and there are so many tents packed together the wind has already been broken. They're not necessary, at least not on the 2/3 man tents I use.

Not always true. I know with mine (and previous) the tension on the ropes also keeps the gap between the tent and the outer shell so there's no leakage. But you don't need them at full stretch.

Don't have your wellies get stuck in the ground as your pushed forward in a crowd and end up ankle deep in mud in your bare socks in the south east corner.

That's my lesson from 2016 :(

This year if it's wet I'll be wearing walking boots instead of wellies & I'll be avoiding the naughty corner at peak times

Don't bring your whipped cream dispensers to the Stone Circle - please! Maybe this is the year where that trend really goes into decline.

100% this. Nothing more depressing than doing the sunrise walk back to the tent, taking a look up the hill towards the stone circle and seeing thousands of empty silver cylinders littering the entire hill.

don't spend the whole festival banging' on to everyone about how it was better in "the good old days" - nobody gives a shit.

(or so i am told) ?

I remember in 2016 after they moved John Peel and some of the staff camping there was an old guy walking past shouting "YOU'VE RUINED IT!"

The golden rule for me? Don't be a dick.

I remember telling people just that back in 95, obviouslly there were lot less people then and the line up was better.
