Tuesday afternoon - London Crew Coach departs at Noon from South London

I was planning to get a lift down on Sunday but my team mate cant make Glastonbury this year - I can get a crew parking pass but she cant get one on her own !!!! but I know she is keen to do it next year so assuming I don't drop down dead we will drive down very early next year.

I know my Team will be working late Tuesday night as we work in the crew bar { the big white tent in the image } but provided its dry we will hit a few crew bars.

I will be out taking shots of the crowds coming in via Gate D in the morning. { close to our camp }

Wed afternoon - NE coach arrives 2.30, camping in Darble so if it goes as smoothly as 2017 (there were no queues at that time) I should have tent up and cracking open a can by 3.30.

Posting that has probably f****d it hasn't it. Coach will break down, a queue will appear from nowhere, Darble will be rammed and I'll be pitched by midnight.

Leaving sunny Lancashire at 7am Wednesday so all being well no later than midday.

Only need space for 2 tents as rest of our lot are in WV, so no mad rush to find room for loads of us.

The tricky part is getting past stoke and onto the M5 at that time.

We are leaving north Manchester at about 2:30am aim to be on site for 6:30 in the queue for 7 ish

No wonder you’re losing your hair ? Always look on the bright side.

Usually part of the Tuesday night queue party (solidarity to anyone who also endured the hours of driving rain in 2016) but taking our baby so not able to leave Plymouth until about 4am Wednesday.   (This is current plan anyway, it's somewhat weather dependent as to whether we are willing to queue).

Aiming to arrive on site for 6am Wednesday purple car park for gate B but this is our first year not parking in orange and using gate D so slightly worried we are leaving it too late.

5 hours ish and sharing with my missus. Will be great :)

Stopping for a bed and breakfast on the way home on the Monday, mind.

I’m impressed with that because I’m 3.5 on a good run from Pilton and 2.5 from you (it took me that when I came up there a few weeks ago leaving at 6.30am)

Just got to hope they’re not doing night closures on the motorways I guess.

Tuesday Morning, hitching a ride with a friend who's camping in her CV (got her tickets on resale so we'll earned!). Buzzing to spend all day Tuesday sinking a few Ciders in what will obviously be glorious sunshine knowing I don't have to wake up at 3am for once.

Yea that's very much best case, open road timings. Could easily be 6 hours with a little coffee/greggs break!

Assuming you’re doing A1/M1/M42 you’ll need to nail it before the Brum rush hour which generally starts around 6...

The M6 is still full of roadworks in Cheshire/Staffs as is the M5 at the top end and is a lottery tbh so don’t come that route. We’re going daytime Tuesday and my plan is to get south of Walsall by 2-3pm

Leaving Birmingham at 5am Wednesday. Aim to be there (in local traffic) at 7ish.

Is this the worst time to arrive in terms of traffic / entry queues?

First timer, sorry for the ignorance if any.

We usually leave from Tamworth, so not too far from you, around 4am and get parked up around 8am. That includes a half hour coffee stop at the services. It's about the busiest time to arrive in recent years and there has been a pretty hefty queue to get in once you have left the car. We would (recently) expect to be through the gates sometime between 10-12.

Do people get their bags out, lie on the floor and sleep in the queue through the night, sleep in their camp chairs or just stand around for hours ? How does this overnight queue thing work for you ?

Having a rethink this year. As said we have, except when working/Camper/coach, always turned up around 8am'ish Wednesday. This year for the first time it's just my wife and I rather than the usual large group (ticket gods were unkind) so we are thinking of turning up around lunchtime Wednesday. What is the traffic like (coming in from West A39 via Puriton then A361) around midday and what are the queues like to get in at that time ? Cheers
