I believe they are and you can buy a lanyard for it apparently.

I got one from one of the info points in 2017. I can't remember if they were free or if I paid for it. Wasn't a lot if I did otherwise I would have remembered. Only problem for me with these cups is they made the beer taste strange but that was on Sunday and could have just been my taste-buds by that point or the fact it was Tuborg

Ah I see, that makes sense. Thank you :)

If you lose your deposit you have a lovely Glastonbury souvenir. (They intentionally made enough to allow for this I believe)

Mine is used as the garden beer mug.

I think they are bottles, you get the steel pint glasses from the bars £5 deposit I think.

No. The WaterAid kiosks will be selling the standard water bottles for £10, some limited edition bottles for £15 and the steel cups for £5 deposit. If you're lucky it might be me selling them!

The steel cups will of course be at the bars as well.

I still have the steel cup from 2017... I cant remember if they get swapped everytime you go to the bar (or did the bar staff rinse the same cup before serving...)

Correction from my previous post. There will be 10,000 steel cups available from all 37 WaterAid kiosks and from the Bimble Inn for a £5 deposit, but NOT from other bars. If you want your deposit back you need to go to one of the information points. If you already have one from previous years you can use it again (and get your £5 back at the end if you want).

Other cups at bars will be compostable paper ones.

There are 5,000 limited edition water bottles available from WaterAid kiosks and info points for £15. They are double insulated to keep liquids hot and cold. These are in addition to the standard £10 water bottles.

They are supposed to switch it every time (health and safety), but I was given some Craig Charles stickers during his set and slapped them on so managed to hang on to the same one the entire time.

Looks like I'll be making a B-line to the bimble inn to get a couple of the steel cups as soon as I get on site as I missed out on these in 2017.

Pity they were filling disposable cups with beer from the pumps and then pouring it into the steel ones - as it doesn't save on waste, it just means it was localized to the beer tents.

This was the problem last time, not every bar was participating and so you had to keep it clean yourself. The exchangeable plastic ones used at Green Man, Bearded Theory and this year at EOTR seem to me to be a much more practical idea but Glastonbury would need an awful lot of them and washing them is an extra cost on the bars compared to the disposable ones.

If you need something to carry around your cup; I made these to fit:  https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/697728950/glastonbury-festival-pint-cup-carrier

(Could post first class tomorrow or meet you there and refund the postage in cash.)
