Lukaku wasnt going to play much, certainly not 1st choice. If they were going to get the cash, they were going to take it.

No point signing a striker just for the sake of it, that's the mistake united have made for years.

I don't see much issue with the strikers, it's the midfield that's the issue. Saying that united have spent 300m just on centre midfielders, just a shame it's been failure after failure.

Least said about sanchez the better.

I don't have an issue with selling them, it's selling them and not trying to find a replacement. Lukaku may not have been a stable 1st choice, but he would have played games and scored goals.

There are absolutely no options for rotation or substitutes up front with Rashford injured. If you play 1 up front you still need 3 capable strikers for the season.

You're right though, if they spent on strikers in the same way as midfielders it would be barely any improvement. Nearly every time the club spends money it creates as many problems as it solves.

I don't see having a terrible transfer policy as being a reason for having a poor manager.

All recruitment. Managers are recruited too. Klopp gave Woodward a wide berth, Mourinho alluded to him being a bellend, as did LVG. We're in Hicks and Gillett territory here with this lot.

Meh. Team is listless, players rushed back from injury, lacking in genuine leaders and has the tactical purpose of an under 11 side.

Get Poch in all 4 improve in a month. The Olly can get back to his P.E. job in Oslo.

There's a clause in Poch's old contract that gives him about 13 million reasons not to take a new job in England before June.

But even if there wasn't Poch isn't going to magic Pogba, McTominay and Rashford back. The squad is average and paper thin and results will continue to be inconsistent until that changes. Midtable squad gets Midtable results

I rather meant that no one is turning Manchester United down because of who the manager is.

Why are you posting bullshit from the Mail?

Its comparative. A player is going to look to join a team with a better manager as one of the factors when deciding on a move. Unless they are mercenary like Sanchez.

That's a pretty poor defense and is filled with players that, while talented, were incredibly inconsistent and mostly performed badly for Man U. It's a lot of fairly irrelevant big names.

You been smoking some good stuff Nal? Vast majority were failures, or like smalling/Evan's who were deemed not good enough and slaughtered by fans.

Delay, Di Maria and Zaha? Blimey they were complete garbage and what was wrong with our transfer policy. Are Zaha and Depay going to play wing backs? 😂

I would even take last nights side to beat that load of waste of money.

Out of that lot, Zaha and Lukaku are the only ones better than the current team

Considering how many goals hes scored before and after Utd, it has to be managerial failures with him if you cant get him scoring at a high level.

This years incomings are good, but in Maguire's case, massively overpriced.

Zaha didn't really fire at Man U though, every player on that list had an individually good reason for being sold. But quite a lot of them were sold at a loss (eg. Di Maria, Sanchez), and performed both before and after.

Obviously you never saw lukaku in his last season at united. Up there with Peter Davenport and Gary Birtles.

What's your point? Everyone knows they've made shit investments.

Woodward is incompetent at the football side of things and Judge is, apparently, even worse

It's not just woody and co, jose and van gaal identified these players that were failures.

Jose made the worst signings that I can remember being a united fan, shouldof kept van gaal than jose.

Jose himself the worst signing by far. A dickhead.

Phil Jones was on the pitch last night. So were Lingard, Shaw and Pereira.

All for giving managers a bit more time and the same for players. Di Maria badly handled. Couldn't speak English and struggled to adapt. But sold on after a year which was silly. Falcao I think was just too small.

Zlatan aged 38 is better than anything there at the moment. Same for Zaha out wide. Depay was playing great stuff at Lyon until his injury. Hes still only 25.

If you want one single example of how bad a state Utd are in at the moment its that Phil Jones is still at the club and starting games.

He finished 2nd with that squad 18 months ago.

I wouldn't disagree, saying that we do have 3 centre backs out injured who are in front of him.
