Radiohead have released a vast collection of unreleased tracks made during the sessions for 1997 album OK Computer, after a MiniDisc archive owned by frontman Thom Yorke was hacked by an unnamed person, who reportedly held the recordings to ransom for $150,000.

it's £18 for 1.8Gb of music, proceeds going to Extinction Rebellion.

Personally I'm more interested in getting details of -how- they files were obtained, but i'm not a huge Radiohead fan anyway :)

There's a story that came with the files when they first appeared last week that an intern at a record company literally ripped the minidiscs in front of Colin in the studio when they were putting together OKNOTOK and Colin didn't appear to care. Believably it said that 'Ed was just happy to be involved' with the OKNOTOK process but unbelievably added that Frank Ocean wanted to do a collab with Thom, who didn't, so sent his son instead because his son was a big fan of Frank Ocean. Frank Ocean didn't know how to react, and they ended up just getting pizza. Really hope that story is true.

Anyway, there's some golden stuff on the tapes, and I'll happily be paying £18 to download again. The full band version of Motion Picture Soundtrack is a delight, along with the 18 versions of Paranoid Android (finally including the full 11 minute version).

I'd doubt it would be great stuff and I say that as a huge Radiohead fan as it's probably just a lot of incomplete ideas  but I like their response to being blackmailed.

There's a bunch of full tracks on there and demos, like MD125 is pretty special

Yep you are right. Just listening to it now. Worth £20 (or whatever you can afford), great music for an important cause.

This is a great summary of what is in the whole download, disc by disc

I have been listening to this quite a lot (well, bits of it). Some of it is brilliant (for a serious fan - not for a casual listener). Most of it I can't be bothered with. Love the Last Flowers and Life in a Glasshouse stuff, and the run-throughs of Paranoid Android, Airbag and Let Down etc. The acoustic Polyethylene put a huge grin on my face.

Would give my left nut to hear the Kid A/Amnesiac period version of this.

When it originally leaked last week the OP said that there is going to be a KIDANOTKIDA style release - if true I wonder if after the positive reaction to this leak they will consider giving hours worth of material away with it as a download.
