I recommend letting the whispers of the wind take you!

That’s great advise thankyou although I’m not banking on it being overly windy (or rainy)

Mik Artistik on 16:30 Croissant Neuf bandstand is a good one.

(and, the efests meet)

But, I agree with metakate - wednesday is the day when all the stresses of real life suddenly evaporate and daftness just kicks in.

Yes true I thoroughly enjoyed Mik on the bandstand in ‘15

New York Brass Band, Rocket Lounge 9pm, they’re great fun.

The Little Unsaid, Small World 5pm, he’s a lovely, melancholic singer

Cheers for that

I'l be playing with my friends in the Voodoo Tweed Cult of Your Mum sometime on Wednesday afternoon/evening at the Avalon Cafe. I'll be making my debut performance on double bass, an instrument i'd never played before 2 weeks ago. Their usual bass player didn't get a ticket so they've asked me to help them out.

We'll also be playing the Bimble Inn on Friday at 15:30.

Is Avalon Cafe open on Wednesdays? I think I've somehow never realised that! Are there other stages on Wednesday that have no listed lineup where bands are on?

I hope it's open, otherwise we won't be playing to many people.

My friends did say that it's going to be an acoustic set, so maybe they're not allowed to have amplified music on Wednesday.

If your playing, even at a small stage, you still have to go through same ticket process?

I think it depends. If a stage asks you to play it'll probably come with a ticket, if you ask to play (like my friends' band did) then you probably have to buy tickets.

I read somewhere 'they'll be no amplified music' but have seen dj sets on for Wednesday?

How does that work?

Places open on Wednesday can have amplified music, but according to the last version of the licence I saw, sound systems are limited to 200 watts. Which isn't a whole lot.

Sounds interesting, I’ll try & check your band out

I do enough planning via the clashfinder for Friday - Sunday, with a little sprinkling of acts for the Thursday, so am leaving Wednesday well alone to just bimble and go where my mood & ears & spirit takes me... drift and enjoy ?
