Dave_c
I know there are probably loads of previous topics on this, but having a real dilemma over tents. We have my other halfs sister in tow this year and are debating between having two tents or one big tent. We usually take our Vango Beta 350 XL, which measures 435 X 220. We have the option of her sister buying a tent and bringing it, which will likely be one of those quecha black and white tents measuring in at 230 X 200. Or we can take our enormous Vango 800XL for all 3 of us, measuring in at 700 X 260. In terms of square footage there isn't much in it, and the bigger tent would be moor roomy due to its height, but is it a bit antisocial taking such a large tent for 3 people? BambooShanks
As you said, there's not actually that much space in it. If anything, having two tents with two entrances and two sets of guy ropes is more of an annoyance than one tent. Plus standing room in a tent is a wonderful thing

Depends on where you are planning on camping. In one of the outer campsites like Darble or Pylon there would be lots of room for it. Taking up that amount of space in a busy field would be a different matter
Dave_c
Should have said, we camp in Darble, just opposite the lock ups.
ModernMan
I think in Darble it’s fine. We have a “9 man” tent between 6 of us and don’t have a problem. Like you say, if we had three small tents we would probably take up more space
Lycra
Big tent all the way for me. Value the head height these days...It may curtail you're fest love life though ??
Dave_c
Big tent it is then. Will definitely appreciate the height and having extra space for stuff.
Aragorn
I take a 4 man to myself as I get too claustrophobic. Dunno how people go in those tiny quelcha things. I'd have to sleep outside it. I'm in cycling camping anyway so wont be in a busy field
