Glastonbury - Stansted Airport (Travel)

Heya :)

I am attending Glastonbury 2019 and flying to Italy from Stansted Airport at 5pm on MONDAY 1 JULY. 

I am wanting to know the best way to get to the airport please. I do not have a car and will have to catch either a bus or train.

Hi Jim,

It looks like the train is the quickest way.  There's london bound trains every 30 minutes or so from Castle Cary station (the nearest train station to Glastonbury - there will be a shuttle bus operating between Glastonbury and the station), once in London, it's a case of getting to Liverpool St station to get the Stansted Airport train.  All in all, it should take around 4 hours from Castle Cary.

It does mean dealing with The Underground though, which with all your stuff (and off the back of Glastonbury) may be an ordeal to say the least.

Hi Jim,

If your flight is at 5pm you will need to get a train around 11am at the latest. These trains will be very busy and I'd advise you to book a seat if possible..

I would definitely take a train, much quicker than a bus. You could then catch the tube to Liverpool Street followed by the Stansted Express.
