If you were to miss your allocated NE coach on the way home what is the likelihood of being able to board a later coach? 

Not planning on doing so obviously but would just like to know for peace of mind.

Usually they just let you board the next one- not sure how strict they can be, but even if they were being super strict and insisted on letting only the people who are meant to be on that coach first, there's no way 100% of people will make their coach on time, so there will always be spaces for them to fill up (and priority would likely go to those who missed an earlier coach).

To be honest the only thing they've been strict on is not letting people with a ticket for a later coach on an earlier one, until they're sure everyone with an earlier ticket is on it.

I did suspect that to be the case.  I usually get the train home and Castle Cary station tends to descend into chaos so hoping for a smooth journey back this year.

In 2009 we missed our London coach (overslept by 2 hours ...) and were made to sit in a pen with all the other daft gits who missed their bus and got herded onto the last bus to leave.

It was not great.

I think there's a difference between NE and the Seetickets.  In my limited experience, the NE tend to stick to the allocated times far more strictly than Seetickets.

Seetickets coaches back to Manchester have always been a free for all and they've never checked the times from my personal experience
