So sorry to hear about Big Dog.

It's usually on or around 1st of June that I start the SOTG thread as it's about now that I do my first site visit.

I suspect that it's as dry as Ghandi's sandal.

So here's to next year!

Thanks Sawdusty. It’s going to be different/ difficult doing the ground reports without his mardy self but life goes on. 2021 will be a new beginning.

as for the ground, yes it is harder than a hard thing in hard town. No rain for what seems like weeks and not that much in the next week. Would have been a marvellous, dusty set up for everyone so far.

We lost our Border Terrier Brillo at the ripe old age of 16 a week short of a year ago. It was awful at the time, a real hole left in the family but now almost a year on the grief seems to have been completely replaced by fond memories. Still miss the little bugger though.

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and kind words.

He was happiest running in the fields of Worthy eating grass and rabbit shit.
In this weather he would be stretched out in the sun getting sun stroke.

Love having a dog in my life, hate losing them. It doesn't get easier. I've had a succession of "best dog in the world" (they all are). Every single one has hurt more than the one before.

Rest easy Big Dog.

THERE is sorrow enough in the natural way
From men and women to fill our day;
And when we are certain of sorrow in store,
Why do we always arrange for more?
Brothers and sisters, I bid you beware
Of giving your heart to a dog to tear.

Rudyard Kipling.

It's very very wet and blustery outside... just the type of weather to have us all panicking and relying on @deebeedoobee for hourly updates 😁 I miss you all. Mostly, we will miss Big Dog. The loveliest of lovely boys. Have fun in those fields above us pet x

We've not had the rain in Pilton yet but the sky looks very black. I expect to see a moist bottom ( of my well) tomorrow morning.

When it rained, it was a bugger to get Big Dog out the door last thing at night for a piss. He'd rather lay all night on a space hopper sized bladder, than get his feet wet. I give anything to have to hassle him one more time.
