I have been casual a.f. about this year and barely excited at all - until that camera panned across and I saw the pyramid in it's sea of green and it hit me like a train

Will you look at that.

It's beautiful.

Erm, Dad is that you?  Can I just use this as an opportunity to apologise for the likeness of my username. I can assure you my intentions were not to doppelgäng... I was completely unaware of your existence on registering. Hopefully this town is big enough for the both of us.

Not a problem buddy

Nice one. You are of course dead right. It’s such an unusual perspective, couldn’t get my head round it. Thanks. ?

Shame, that would have been fun.

This calls to the completionist in me, so will have to go up it. Does it suffer from the same endless queues as the park ribbon tower?

No queues for the last couple of years I’ve been up - holds about 15 people up there and does offer some  pretty good alternative views than the Ribbon Tower.

Those 2016 vids. *shudders*

Relieved to see the site seems ok so far. Not had chance to keep up with gossip and feared the worst.

And The Hives we’re bloody awesome in 2013. One of my highlights. ?

Anyone have a view on the relative effect of drainage versus evaporation?  I suspect that wind speed is the key factor (and humidity).  I suspect a light shower will mostly evaporate, but heavy rain will mostly drain away (unless ground already sodden).

At this time of year with the grass actively growing, a lot of moisture is lost through transpiration from the leaves to the atmosphere - warm weather and wind help.

Is the lighthouse thingami a fish and chip stall or has my memory warped over the last 2 years?

Hmmmm. Honestly not too sure. Normally by the time I’ve got myself to that part of the site at the time it’s all lit up I’m not so able to lay down new memories! Though having said that I did bump into Andy from “Andy’s wild adventures” exactly at that point in 2016. He was very tall, had curly hair and yellow wellies. Memory, funny thing innit!
