Individual perspective is a funny old thing. I look at that and think that the ground's looking pretty decent.

nah, that is wet - if you add people you would get mud. but hey ho, wont spoil my fest?

Just been onsite. Wasn't able to have a good look around (I had work to do there) but generally speaking the ground still looks ok. But put 200,000 people on it and it will readily turn to mud. If we can get Tuesday and Wednesday out of the way this week and then dry until the following Wednesday, it could be ok. Any further rain and it's likely to be walking boots and wellies.

A damning verdict

Think if we get past wednesday and then a few days of settled weather we should be doing OK. Next Sunday - Monday time looks a bit worse too

Rain mon/tues is worse than later over the festival - does anyone remember queuing to get in the car parks in 2016??? Fuck a repeat of that shit!

They won't be putting 200,000 people on it until Wednesday morning of the festival. It only need a day of good sunshine or a couple of days overcast weather to dry out. Monday/Tuesday before are the only days that really matter.

That was a freak occurrence where it had been raining nearly non-stop for two weeks up the festival, the whole thing was nearly cancelled, the build was nearly not finished on time (or arguably not finished at all) and the roads got snarled up with campervans which couldn't get onto the site without being towed. That's not caused by a bit of rain on Monday.

Busy day today. This morning I painted my windows out the front of my house. Can’t have you lot driving past and seeing me dirty mullions.

then a walk around the entire site. No rain today ( not much at all this weekend). No photos either. I won’t post any spoilers. But here are my trainers after the walk. The muddiest parts of the site are SE corner around the new stage because of the heavy vehicles but still passable in trainers. And the park to back of other stage road. Again just a little muddy, no depth, nothing to panic about. Today has been warm with a breeze which is drying the paths out nicely. The grass areas are all very firm. Even the bit in the stone circle field that is boggy without the festival is firm.

theres some lovely new additions this year. It’s going to be great, even for you lot who have been lots of times. But just like Christmas you will have to wait until the Wednesday to open your presents.

And missing trackways because of Download.

Download walkways? Overplayed I think. GFL have first dibs on such things, they are on the telly.

I believe a lot of the walkways that move from festival to festival were buried at Download due to the extreme weather/mud they had and so never made it to Glastonbury which meant the ground got even more chewed up by vehicles.

I just don't believe that :)
