I don't see why the person on Reddit would lie about the artists already being noticed about the festival getting cancelled.

yeap. I think the first stage for fighting a pandemic is having a president that actually acknowledges you're facing one... I think the US is going to be in much deeper sh*t than Europe in a week or two

Scary, isn't it?

It felt pretty scary enough when China was shutting down areas that were the size of European nations but its still a huge development that this thing is going in such a way that its now shutting down entire individual countries.

yes, its all over now, Coachella likely moving to October. 

US has tons of festivals in April / May period, should expect a lot of cancellations / postponements in the coming days.

It would be a logistical miracle if a festival could move six months with keeping the same or even vaguely similar lineup. Most bands tour in autumn/winter so lots will be booked up already, and lots will only be doing festivals this summer and then going on a break. I think I'd prefer a cancellation rather than the organisation having to deal with putting on an altered October one while simultaneously trying to plan the next summer one.

The deputy medical officer interviewed didn’t say that.
