Real Ale

My favourite bar on site sits atop the park hill. It’s a mission to get to but there’s a pub at the top that serves real ale, slightly away from the crowds around the glasto sign so not too busy. Bit of a tradition to get a nice cold pint of the good stuff up there on Sunday morning or more likely lunchtime. Cannot remember the name of it but it’s sortve made from timber fairly small right near the crows nest. Sure someone else will know.

Cornish Arms, between Other & Left Field, has Tribute and a couple of other St Austell brews.

Are we talking about proper beer pumps or good beer but dispensed in a different way? I love Tricketts, but didn't that serve (good) beer like several other places on site? I will find that Cornish bar, thanks BSR, but I presume its set up is like the others and only the range is different? I love Proper Job.

Cornish Arms certainly used to be cask. St Austell are less directly involved now but I’d hope it still is?

I love Avalon and Acoustic which both have a good choice of ales. I must find the Cornish Arms this year because Proper Job is a real favourite. For some reason I sometimes struggle to find it. Maybe it's spending too much time at the Cider Bus.

I’m sure the Acoustic bar/pub tent had Proper Job last time, we always head over to there on Thursday afternoon and have a few ales to set us up for the day ahead

Went there in 2015, I was 26. It Was 4 AM Sunday morning and I trecked up to the top of the hill to get a pint and watch the sunrise only for them to ask for my ID which was safely tucked away in the lock ups. It's the only time I had and have been asked for ID at glasto. While technically they were doing there job I'm still a bit  bitter...

I've been in the Cornish Arms a couple of times, I love St Austell brewery having been there, but the pub is situated a little in no-mans land, whereas the Avalon and Acoustic right by their respective stages and so much more convenient. I tend to use them to get a drink, and then head off to see a band, rather than doing too much hanging around the bars themselves.

Seem to remember they had proper hand pumps but might be wrong

I think all of them have proper hand pumps.  I subconsciously notice (years of drinking ale does that to you) and wouldn't normally ask for a beer that wasn't served from a hand pump.

Pretty sure Cornish has both hand pumps and some ale that was on ‘gravity’
