What time do the fireworks usually start on the Wednesday night?

Can't remember exactly although they are evening and I believe after sunset so around 10pm ish? However, I have seen some people on these forums suggesting that the fireworks aren't happening this year due to the effect that they have on the climate. Unsure if there's any truth to these rumours and I really hope not as the fireworks are always a great start to the first evening.

I really hope so too. Love the fireworks and the environmental effect is a drop in the ocean compared to everything else.

yeah innit, that argument seemed odd to me. It's not like it's Disneyland putting on 365 fireworks shows a year is it

If its on this year, best to get up there earier than 10 as it gets packed out. As the last few years it's been at the top of the stone circle and the two adjacent fields, you can choose which field based on what you want to be doing after (Green fields, Park or in between). 

Shame if it's not happening this year, hopefully they have some kind of setpiece to start the festival off. Feels like there's normally something announced in the lead up weeks...

2017 it was underway at 22:30 according to the file information on some of the photos I took - so yeah if you want to be by the stone circle for the lighting of the wooden Phoenix be up there by 21:30 at the latest - I watched on the edge of the tipi field last year and had a great view of all 3 displays
