Lack of Heritage Acts

AKA Marti Pellow is no Art Garfunkel

Seems a bit light this year, no?

There's Mavis Staples and a few things on the Acoustic, but otherwise the veterans turn out is lighter than usual.

No rock slot. Only Roy Ayers on West Holts.

Even the Legend Slot is a relative toddler compared to some of the veterans who've done a stint.

On one hand its obviously positive - but on the other hand where's my drunken singalongs to yesteryear MOR tearjerkers at?

What's the definition of a heritage act? Someone old you can sing along to? There's definitely older acts on the list (Hawkwind for one) but it does feel a bit light for septuagenarians and older (Mavis Staples says hello).

I saw someone on here ages ago mention John Fogerty in passing as an option. I'd go nuts for some Fortunate Son on the Pyramid...

Upvoted purely for the appropriate use and spelling of septuagenarians.

Bravo, young man.

For these purposes let's set an arbitrary deadline of a career that predates the 1980s.

In which case The Cure squeak in just about , but aren't really the kind of thing I mean.

John Illsley, Julie Felix, Nick Lowe - you just need to get to the Acoustic stage

Albert Hammond. Hate to point out the obvious but they are all getting old. I have no intention of working into my 70's and 80's so I assume each year the pool of those who are still working and well enough to do it gets smaller. Sadly we are starting to move onto the next generation for heritage acts.

I'm just a little worried that some of the "Heritage Acts" mentioned so far appear to be younger than me.
