I went last year, it was a good small festival for the price plus the camping is right on the cliff top, cracking view however the wind does hit you when the suns in

it's my local festival, I live about ten/fifteen mins drive away in the next town over, it seems to be growing with each year at the moment so I'm really interested to see who they've got playing the main stage this year

I travelled down from Nottingham last year and it was worth the trip down. I’d be tempted again this year if the main stage line up is good

Any ideas how soon is soon?

They told me on 8th April it would be 'in the next two weeks' and their most recent post is 'big news right around the corner' so I'd assume within the next few days, the next week at the most

I think this is another Festival that’s gone down the cashless payment system snooping route like Bluedot just so people are aware.

Correct, I was unaware of this but just did a quick google and they're partnered with TicketCo so you have to use a phone app to make purchases it seems

The bars were cashless last year kind of, you had to get tokens before you could get a drink which was alright for me as I was there all weekend. The people who came just for the libertines day however were queuing for ages hence I assume the cashless route.

cancelled.

"It is with absolute heart-breaking agony that due to financial constraints on our small growing independent festival we have been forced into the devastating decision that Wheels and Fins festival 2019 has been cancelled.
To the artists, traders and suppliers who we have worked tirelessly with all year, we apologise for the huge inconvenience this causes. To our loyal ticket holders we are truly devastated to disappoint you and thank you for your continued support.
We will have a more detailed statement to make in the coming days and ask that you please bear with us as we work with our ticketing partners and legal representatives to prepare the next steps."

Gutted about this.

It was turning into a nice little festival and it's in such a stunning location.

I think it failed because of poor marketing.  The line up was pretty decent.

Wheels and Fins Festival Statement, 12:00pm, Monday 30th September 2019

"Thank you for your patience over the past weeks. During this time, we have worked tirelessly, meeting with new investors and legal representatives to try and salvage Wheels and Fins, but it is with an unbelievable amount of sadness that we must inform you that the festival will be going into liquidation shortly.  Creditors will receive notice of this from Quantuma LLP in due course, but should you require any information in the meantime they can be contacted on 01273 322400 or alternatively you can email Maxine.reid@quantuma.com.

We have tried everything to avoid this outcome but have been unable to find a solution - to say we are devastated is an understatement. We have poured our hearts, souls and personal finances into the event as well as leaning heavily on private Investors and friends. The pressure of trying to deliver an independent festival which Kent could be proud of has been immense. However, there is no avoiding the reality of our situation - poor ticket sales mean that Wheels and Fins is no longer financially viable nor attractive to an investor.

With the festival forced into liquidation we are truly sorry to say we are unable to refund any tickets. This is the worst part for us. Being unable to refund our audience, the people who have stuck by us and supported the festival, is a very painful experience for us, both as people and event organisers.

We understand that this news will leave many of you angry and upset and we can only offer our genuine apologies. If there was any other way around this situation, we would have found it, but with ticket sales at the lowest they’ve ever been, it is simply impossible to salvage.

We’d like to send a huge, heartfelt thank you to our audience, partners and suppliers and everyone who has supported Wheels and Fins Festival over the years."
