It's pretty telling that even something like Glastonbury, which we all perceive as a more progressive institution than most, is even a bit of a old boys club. Must be incredibly frustrating for Emily given how much she's been responsible for the festivals ongoing success.

I guess in reality I'm part of the problem here. Though I have no ticket this year, I'm still trying, and if I do get one, it will be due to a failure in my technological privilege. I've managed to get a ticket for 30+ years and that is fucked if you think about it when many youngsters have not got one due to digital poverty.

The line-up is weak this year, but emphatically not because of the diversity push.  Nevertheless people are still pointing at Miley Cyrus like she's the serpent in the garden.  Fuck knows how much weaker it would be without Emily knocking her pan in to not just book the ghosts of Britpop past.

Lauryn Hill is playing, so the line-up is most certainly not weak. Only the fucking Beatles would surpass that IMHO. Help me get a ticket.

Yeah, I think the daytime is stacked   Maybe just adding some heritage rock acts like Iggy Pop and John Fogerty onto the first poster would have drawn away some of the heat.

Its not for me, but I don't really begrudge him his place on the line-up. But it does look weaker cos- along with Stormzy and The Killers - he had a prominent place in 2017.  Imagine if they booked Janet Jackson two years in a  row.

Nah. I get a huge amount of enjoyment from Twitter, yes there's a lot of poison but that can generally be avoided.

I totally blame Britpop for the, Gammon, stuff. That is, if I am using the term, Gammon, as intended by the previous users of the term; on this thread. Britpop bands haven't aged well at all. I don't blame Noel Gallagher for replacing, the whole of Oasis with women; but he's got a long way to go. I still think Noel Gallagher will be liable when, the history of Gammon ridden Oasis past, comes to light.
