Martin Ashford
Well I'm gutted. Steve Hillage has just personally confirmed to me via a reply to a comment I made on a System 7 post that he is not playing Glastonbury this year, either with System 7 or as the newly revitalised Steve Hillage Band. I would have thought he was a cert to perform on The Glade given that he's played so many times in the past and is hugely significant to the festival's development in the past. Now I'm starting to wonder if The Glade itself is no longer part of the festival.
Pinhead
Has he really played that frequently? Last time I remember was the old 'Sounds of the 70's' Stage or whatever it was called. Happy to be corrected though...
stuartbert two hats
Shit. I hope he's ok. I'm genuinely worried if he's ill. He usually turns up in some form or another doesn't he?

He does play most year's - closing the Glade last time round was a highlight for me - but not every year. Looking at their website, he's doing Japan in May, Noisily in July and (most frustratingly for me) Maui Waui in August, which is down the road from where I live and the annoyingly a weekend when I'm away. Like many folk, I suspect, System 7 at Glastonbury is a tradition for me, and apart from one year in the last ten, I think he's been there, so it is gutting news, but I don't think there's reason to assume poor health. Let's hope so, anyway
MrZigster
Gutted. He was brilliant with The Orb on the Thursday last year (think it was last year). A well underated guitar god and techno wizard all rolled into one. I still think Green was well ahead of its time.

Fishman
Gah - that's a shame. I just thought he lived in a hut at the back of The Glade with Davos. He even rocked out with The Beat (!) last time around. (I have a photo somewhere.) Edited March 25, 2019 by Fishman

Found it .... although the bloke in front appears to have a better close-up.
