DefLeppard
Of the artists you've seen on the poster, which produced the best performance? I haven't actually seen many of them this year, which excites me. Stormzy would take the win but he's not fighting off much competition! Slugworth
Hot Chip 2015....Magic Tame Impala 2016 were good too Edited March 22, 2019 by Slugworth
OffshoreToon
Janelle Monae in 2011 was amazing. She was everywhere that summer, but she was by far at her best on West Holts.
Brave Sir Robin
Interpol and Friendly Fires have both exceeded expectations on more than one occasion.
CaledonianGonzo
Of those I've seen would also have to say Janelle Monae, with Chris and the Queens and Stormzy winning silver and bronze.
bombfrog
The Chemical Brothers absolutely smash it every time, without fail.
OffshoreToon
Despite mixed reviews generally for Lauryn Hill, I saw her in 2014 at the bowling alley in the O2. She was three hours late and came out to a round of boos, to which she responded by saying something like 'I have personal things going on in my life' and got more boos. A good 25% of the crowd had left by that point because it was a Sunday. Anyway, within five minutes she'd won everybody over. Every track had been reworked and the whole set flowed seamlessly. She has an incredible stage presence that brings so much energy. I don't think I'd wait three hours at Glastonbury to see her, given the amount of other acts, but I definitely would on a random Sunday. CaledonianGonzo
Definitely on the shortlist of acts I'm most curious to see. Really hope she's a sneaky wee WH headliner on the Friday. Or that the Wu info is duff and she's on the Saturday.
DefLeppard
Yeah, I'm excited about Lauryn Hill. I just have a sneaky feeling that she might be one of those special sets that blows you away if she headlines West Holts. Will be decent on the pyramid and worth a watch but not so sure it would be special.
OffshoreToon
Yeah, at least with West Holts if she does take the piss you can just switch to the Other stage or dive into the south-east corner early. Glastonbury are generally very good at getting artists to get their shit right, and Lauryn seems to have committed to quite a few gigs so here's hoping she's left that behind her. FuzzyDunlop
Not seen Janelle Monae, but from the videos I have seen, her performances look pretty special.
Avalon_Fields
Fatoumata Diawara: huge energy, dancing and passion, admittedly saw her recently in a small venue so not sure how it will translate to a festival setting.
Homer
This was a bit of a slap in the face in an early afternoon slot!

I wonder if the contracts have something in them about the artists fulfilling their commitments, including playing on time. That is, “Lauren, love, your slot is 9-10pm. If you only come on at 9.50pm you’re only getting 10 minutes. That ok?!” It predates my Farm love affair, but I remember Bobbie G singing into a switched off PA, so he wasn’t deciding when he was on and when he was off! FuzzyDunlop
Lauryn Hill is definitely high on my "too see" list. As far as I am aware, her "dodgy" reviews are solely due to timekeeping, not performance. Nothing at all wrong with this! Nobody Interesting
Best performers are IDLES. Like them or not they blow you away.
H.M.V
Lizzo for the wild card. She's gonna be brilliant but some stiff competition above.
DJL
Of those I’ve seen Hot Chip and Chris and the Queens spring to mind. Chemical Brothers most enjoyable but that’s a different type of performance. I’ve not seen her but hopes for Kylie, think she’ll be very polished and it could be an iconic moment. We’ve had a lot of International legends of late - obviously she’s not actually British but, she is a national treasure and has the personality to really pull it off. nikkic
Of those I’ve seen it’s Hot Chip, Chemical Brothers and Friendly Fires in that order. They all bring the heat, no question. Janelle, CATQ and Lizzo are the 3 I’m most excited about.
basquille
Seen Friendly Fires at Metropolis Festival last year in Dublin.. and immediately became a fan. Huge energy, catchy songs and top-notch dad dancing from their frontman! Definite must see again this year!
