I'm just laughing at the people who go year on year and never seem to like any of the lineup announcements, while I know there is plenty to enjoy about Glastonbury beyond the lineup. Still I wonder what music they do like when they seem to dislike openly everything they get offered.

If there is naff on during the day I like (or the other half or friends) we go to the Cabaret tent. Never felt short changed there to chill during the day.

edit: or go for a walk about & hit the bars/find somewhere to catch up with a few drinks without blaring music. Socialise.

95% didn’t try for tickets or considered going

Oh I'm talking about people I know who do have tickets, I'm ignoring the rest.

Some years I see a lot of bands, some years I don't, there is always plenty to enjoy but I'm never as critical over the lineup announcements like some people are, even when the artist announced is pretty much nailed on. I don't get it. Some people just like to complain i think.

This may have already been mentioned elsewhere today (there have been a lot of posts) but I noticed that BST have updated their FB page so are clearly gearing up for an announcement or two. I could easily see Macca following his Glasto announcement up with a BST show.

Be interesting to see if Ms Swift is announced soon too.

Always spend a few hours in here when we just need to chill out for a bit. Always have a great time and vow to spend more time in there next time

For a certain audience - but like has been said already, if those are both there then there's something for everyone. Add Taylor and it'll be a small resale (I know plenty don't care about the lineup but I imagine there are a fair few who do make decisions based on that)

If I was relying on the resale I'd certainly think Macca makes things harder than Kendrick. Yes Lamar has his fans but for broad appeal you can't really top a Beatle.

Certainly if it is Swift/Kendrick/McCartney thats is as close as something for everyone as you're going to get.

If you wanted to get cryptic, I think they could drop her name on her birthday. She will turn 30, and its a friday on top of that.

So can they place The 1975 on Other during Macca? Would seem par for the course.

OK,  I had a quick scan and cant see how this fits now, unless I missed it...

"Emily Eavis has dropped some huge hints about next year’s Pyramid headliners saying two of them “have not headlined before"

or do we think this has now been dumped ?

She said two of them haven't played there before.

So the other two headliners should be new to Glastonbury.

Am I walking into a trap? If there are still 2 headliners to be announced and neither have played before... doesnt that satisfy the logic?

I think no matter who they announced now, the reaction on the social media channels is gonna be mixed. That's just the way it is unfortunately, I can't think of an act who'd receive nothing but positive comments

Bowie and Prince would have I think. Apart from them I can’t either.

Be surprised if Macca was doing BST after announcing G. Makes little sense announcing them this way around does it?

Cracking booking though. And I reckon it bodes well for the other two announcements being top drawer as well.

I know you all across the pond have your feelings.

But as someone coming from Portland, Oregon for my third Glastonbury, I couldn't be more excited about Macca.   I have only seen him once before at Desert Trip and he was phenomenal.

I’m in this camp as well!!! Coming over form New Zealand and couldn’t be happier with this announcement!

I think Diana Ross had mostly positive comments, even people who didn’t like her music agreed she was a legend but that’s not a headliner slot

Don't know how reliable the rumour is, but there's also a mention of a gig in July on the Imola racetrack in Italy and a few other cities in Europe. If they do have a tour to announce, holding back a Glastonbury announcement until 2020 makes sense...Glastonbury could have booked them some time ago on the back of the new album due 2020 spring and they just building a tour around it..

Pearl Jam/McCartney/Taylor Swift

A huge cult rock band, a megastar oldie and one of the most relevant pop stars..two never played before and there's really something for everyone there (more than Kendrick/Macca/TS, I think TS and Kendrick are more for the same demographic than PJ)

Macca - The biggest selling living act of all time (obviously including the Beatles stuff)

Swift -:The biggest selling active act of the moment.

Regardless of the 3rd headliner, if Glasto HQ pull that off - no one on Earth can say "it isn't big enough for the 50th"

wanna bet...?

Where Emily’s quotes that the other 2 haven’t played/headlined “there” or “the festival” before.

The use of those two words are worlds apart. I wouldn’t bank on the certainty of things if she hasn’t directly said “the other 2 headliners have never played the festival before in any slot on any stage”.

Saying that they just haven’t played there to me sounds like they haven’t played either the pyramid, or headlined elsewhere and/or pyramid before. Which would leave the pot wide open again.

1975 / Macca / Taylor was my pick for the start. Im deciding to stick and not twist, unless I’m put in my place about the wording of her exact quote!
