2020 headliners

Fully agree that if they can headline Coachella - a social media influencer paradise - they can headline Glastonbury. Given the current political climate, I’m sure Glastonbury would love to have such a band, too.

However, I think Glastonbury sorted Kendrick and Taylor a while back so I’m not sure if they have missed the boat.

The 50th anniversary, they knew they’d sell out without a problem so having Rage headline wouldn’t be a 2008 moment.

Sorry but it's not even up for debate that RATM are big enough to headline. You would be surprised how many people like them. Their download and R+L sets went down very well never mind their own gigs they did around 10 years ago. They have a huge following.

I'm sure people will know more songs than they realise too. For example the song at the end of The Matrix is 'Wake Up' which is fucking epic.

4. Hail to the Thief

5. Amnesiac

6.  A Moon Shaped Pool

7. Kid A

8. King of Limbs

9. Pablo Honey

I mean, I know you’ve dropped this in a middle of a conversation on wether RATM can headline or not, but seriously...Kid A 7th?

You’re brain dead, you’ve got a bullet in your head....

RATM have one song, and that's because of a bit of a quirk

Aaahaha.. I've read some batshit stuff since frequenting EFestivals but this one takes the biscuit.

I assume the quirk you refer to is the Christmas number 1. You realise it only became a thing because it was already a well known thing, right?

It is totally up for debate! They could headline Other but not the Pyramid IMO, they may have done Download and R&L and gone down well there, but those are traditionally “rock” festivals whose attendees are much more likely to be fans anyway. I just can’t see RATM drawing a big enough crowd for the Pyramid, especially on the 50th which is going to be clash central. When Metallica did it, it was a normal year (and they are much more on the mainstream side of rock than RATM) and they had one of the smallest headline crowds I’ve seen in the 11 years I’ve been attending the festival.

Amnesiac above Kid A? Mental. People, we are through the looking glass.

Yes, but I don't understand why it's controversial to say that a song that got to 24 in the charts and then artificially got to number 1 16 years later is a quirk.

Move Kid A to 2nd and rest down a notch and you are right.

So Coldplay is not going to do Coachella, which means touring commitments put them in play in whatever capacity for glasto now. That question gets answered in 3 weeks i presume when the album is released and tour dates drop.

They are not touring just playing some one off shows, which may or may not include Glastonbury. I’m betting opening pyramid or not playing at all, won’t headline too soon

I think you would be surprised how many would go see them then.

Put it this way if they are headlining Coachella then I can't see them on the other. If they play they are Pyramid otherwise the crowd would be mental at the other for space. I dont think they will be playing anyway but to say the band with as much behind them as they have couldn't headline is wrong IMO.
