Resales- now easier or harder?

Following that line up do we think the number if tickets returned will be higher or lower compared to if there had been no poster?

I think the line-up is a a solid effort but a bit crap personally. I don'y have a ticket - and it's certainly softened the blow a bit.

I can see more going back in the pot than in any of the last 2-3 years. It's a decent overall poster, but no big name headliner, and a lot of the names have been around in previous years.

Bodes well for those who really want to go imo.

Hard to say.  The line up is quite 'safe'. There's nobody controversial on there but there's no one pants shittingly exciting.

As always, resale day is going to be difficult

Easier. Although Glasto is probably the only festival where the majority of people are going regardless of who's playing. Just hoping all the people wanting to tick glasto off their list dont fancy it and put their tickets back in. Saying that, if i dont get any, this makes it slightly easier to take.

Demand for tickets has grown over the years driven by the perceived success of the previous years fest. I doubt this years headliners match the magnitude and mass popularity of the last few.

Here's one to factor in. One of my mates has never been before, was even thinking of not going even though he has a ticket.

But The Cure and The Killers are in his all-time top 5, so he's cock-a-hoop.

Reckon people might underestimate the lure of Killers, Liam, Cure... and even Snow Patrol to your general punter. They are not annoyed that there's no Car Seat Headrest, for example.

Yep, don't assume of the 10's of 1,000's going that the vast majority consume the festival 24/7 like a lot of us on the board.

On my social media Ive seen loads saying they are going to drop their tickets. Hard to tell how that effects the resale as I guess matterless of acts its always a struggle anyway but Ive seen a lot of people this morning on Facebook etc saying they will sack it off.

I agree. Can't see 10s of 1,000s being thrown back on the basis of the line up but it could add quite a few to those who've elected to give them up for other reasons. But from chat around my extended group of mates it's certainly quelled interest in the resale......Less is more (chance) ?

On the downside there seems to be more names that a casual music fan may know - Janet Jackson, kylie, George Ezra, Miley Cyrus, Stefflon Don etc which may encourage rather than discourage some people.

It'll still be a massive bunfight getting them resale tickets whatever happens.

Miley personally is one that I was hoping based on no ticket atm wouldn't be there, if I had a ticket I'd be quite happy as that potential run from I'm presuming 3rd down Saturday is great for me.

Honestly? I'm not sure. 

Without going into too much detail this year was already looking like it might be too much of a stretch cash wise cause of other priorities. When it looked like Macca was headlining I'd have found a way to make it happen, but since that possibility disappeared combined with the poster not particularly doing it for me there's definitely part of me that thinks I should just decide now to give it a miss and make my peace with it.

But then there's the other side of me that knows I'll have an amazing time no matter who's on the bill.

tl;dr I'll decide when resale week rolls around

As much as I don't have a ticket, I can say that if I was working and the potential of having to work Saturday evening 4pm until midnight for example, that would take away the point to work it for me. 

Things like Baggy Mondays Thursday is kind of the tradition where it starts and to work through that would be shit too, that followed by Rhythm of the 90s was superb last time.

Yes indeed - not missed one since 97. I will be seeing the Chems and The Cure at Nos Alive a few weeks later anyway, though, so hopefully it won't kill me too much if/when I fail.
