Has anyone from Exeter area volunteered for Shelter before, I was wondering where the nearest coach pick up is, sounds like it might be Bristol?

I am fairly sure cut off for refunds is before the resale window for shelter so that wouldn't work.

I emailed them about this, training is done via zoom now so don't have to worry about any training Days in London etc.

This is giving me major second thoughts now. So if I was successful in the resale, I wouldn't get a refund..?

The only place coaches left from in 2022 was Bristol. (Not great if you live in Fife!)

Usually just London isn’t it ? They weirdly changed that short notice if I recall

I second this, could anyone clear this up please? Is the spot guaranteed, do we have a good chance or is it just a scramble? 
 

The way the email is worded suggests it’s a kinda guarantee but it’s not too clear..

There's surprisingly little detail on their website but I've found guidelines from the cancelled 2020 event. 

"• If you sign up to volunteer and then find you cannot attend, you must cancel your place by emailing summerfest@shelter.org.uk no later than 31 March 2020. Your deposit will then be returned to you by Shelter.

• Shelter will be unable to return deposits for places cancelled after 31 March 2020 except in extenuating circumstances, which will be looked at on a case by case basis"

If the timelines are similar that rules out resale as a route for shelter people

Looks like they will set after the re-sale date. Agreed on the minimal info and got pointed to their FAQ's:

Seems a pain having to get their transport from Bristol, which is putting me off.

Our first two years volunteering at Glastonbury were with Avalon bars / Shelter. I have changed over thank god.

If you don't mind me asking, what didn't you like about Avalon/Shelter?  Who do you prefer to volunteer for?
