DDave
I normally hate those kind of things but surely we've got to start a campaign to get 'Firestarter' to no.1, especially given the absolute shite in the top 20 at the moment.

Shocking traffic getting in, vague memory of some great pics of The Prodigy lads getting a police escort...
t0paz
Terribly sad news. Interesting that they were booked to play. I guess it’s not impossible they may still do?
Cooter
Sad news indeed. You haven't had a good night out unless you've been to a Prodigy all nighter at Brixton Academy, or in fact a Motorhead gig at Hammersmith. Both very similar in attitude with huge intensity and power, both left me bruised and battered many times but always with a huge grin on my face. Thanks Keith for the amazing experiences that'll I'll never forget x

I can't, and don't particularly want to, speculate what they might do at this time. I really can't get over this. Today's been horrible. Trying to act professional and concentrate whilst at work when all you want to do is scream into a pillow, turn off the lights and listen to Music for the Jilted Generation. This has hit me hard.
FuzzyDunlop
Absolutely heartbreaking. I and many others will miss him greatly. I wish he knew how much we loved him.

I wouldn't rule out it happens without a campaign, there's normally a surge in sales for musicians who have just passed away.
guypjfreak
Stopped me in my tracks when I saw it on the news.. Apparently he killed himself.. If so its horrible and why.. Just why I was reading about his pub where he had a jar and when he lit the fire if you sang fire starter you had to put a quid in.. I would have loved to see that. Didn't even know he had a pub bless him.. Imagine having kieth as your local landlord.. Lol RIP lord of the fire

John the Moth
As a youngster I was mostly into rock music, it was the Prodigy who got me listening to dance music too. They expanded my horizons and opened up my world. For that I will be eternally grateful. RIP fella ?
oneeye
First band I took my daughter to see when she was 14, Bournemouth 2005, bounced around like sweaty loons. Also, ace memories of seeing them 2009 Other, then hacking round to Pyramids to see dying embers of blur; happy happy days indeed. Fat of the Land was always my go to work out album 20 odd years ago, utilising my jog proof cd Walkman ? RIP; respect ?

Them and the Chemical Brothers totally changed my view of what I snobbishly thought was 'real music'. I've been utterly rocked by this news. Gutted. D-Low
Remember seeing them years ago at a festival. Waited all day and the rain was so bad they closed the main stage where they were due to play. Keith and the band insisted on performing so they moved in to a tiny tent. I remember being crammed at the back, way over capacity bodies almost bursting out the seams. Can still feel the energy and sweat dripping off the roof to this day - and was probably the catalyst for my love of live music and festivals. Such terribly sad news reading all the comments and tributes Keith seemed like a generally lovely guy.

ravermum
I feel less alone in my sadness, coming to this beautiful forum full of hugely committed music lovers. I was saying to my son a few months ago (he's 11 this Glasto), "Fingers crossed for The Prodigy - it will be an experience you will remember all your life, if they are there." Such a hard day at work and I finally felt able to shed a tear and then blast out some tunes when in the safety of my own home tonight. When I was sitting at work, surrounded by people I couldn't talk to about how I felt about the sad, awful news, I came to Efests. Bless you all, my fellow ravers ♥️

Bless you all, my fellow ravers ♥️ That very accurately describes my day as well, saw them in November for the 4th time and couldn't wait to see them again as soon a possible, sat at my desk looking around realising there was no one else there that would care about this as much I do, so I came here.
