BBC6 Music Festival 2019

6 Music Festival details announced on Tuesday. Have thought for a long time it'll be in Cardiff but Mary Anne Hobbs has let it slip on her show that they'll be broadcasting from Liverpool on Tuesday so seemingly it'll be there. I'd imagine Idles will be there and they've no Liverpool date or any show that weekend so it makes sense.

Very happy with Liverpool. Quick train ride over from where I am in Manchester. What weekend is it on? Haven’t seen that announced anywhere yet

Yeah me too regarding the closeness if it is in Liverpool. Will be harder to get tickets than it was in in Belfast though. Last weekend in March apparently

Is that the rumour? I had assumed it would be that weekend from history, but the Academy venues seem to have shows across that weekend and I figured they'd need use of those. Second weekend in April seems pretty free. What other Liverpool venues might they base it at?

Anfield, thought I doubt they would use a stadium, the Echo Arena, maybe use a park?

They usually use a bunch of sub-arena venues for the 6 Music Festival. They didn't last year, but also it was the end of May so the weather wouldn't have been ropey.

I've not checked tbh. There is a lot of venues in Liverpool to use but you'd think that the Academy would at least be one of them.

Olympia? Invisible Wind Factory if you look a bit futher out? The Academy is two minutes walk from my flat so would be handy.

Very happy with this. Me and my gf have quite a few friends in Liverpool so will be coming up if we can get tickets. 

As others have said, there are a number of great venues they can use

Liverpool would be good this time. Imagine it's likely Doves will be there, post London show on the 29th.

Liverpool it is then. Played Hot Chip and Foals during the announcement so they're a good bet.
