I just realised I've been making a big deal of hoping for The National to do a High Violet show at this only for one of the only free dates to be May 30th, when I'm going to be in Manchester watching The Killers. Maybe I should've checked my diary first.

Your not the only one. I have made alternative arrangements for most of the APE days as I did not want to miss out on other things by holding off just in case I really like the headliners when thhey are finally announced.

I know a few people who were also holding off booking trips away for the bank holiday hoping for APE to do more announcments but ended up deciding to go away as the price of flights and hotels were going up.

With my luck the day I am available will be the day I dont like the lineup.

I'm curious to see what kind of undercard the Massive Attack show has. Looking at the festivals in the surrounding week there's not a huge amount of suitable stuff that hasn't been swallowed up by other UK festivals already. Beck and Bauhaus are the obvious ones to me, perhaps DJ Shadow as well?

Do we have any reliable information on Massive Attack or ist just some one we think would fit well for APE?

Massive Attack are so unpigeonholeable you could put them with most good acts and the fit would be there.

APE don't curate the days much anyway, will go for who is around and will sell.

London Grammar would be logical and they’re active this summer. Not sure if they’re about this early in the season though.

Yeah that would be totally sod's law that the one free day turns out to be shit.

I liked The National day for the APE show in 2018 but it clashed with a few other things so I couldn't do it, even though I was in London on the day. Though if I do return for this year's events, hopefully the sound is properly calibrated. Poor quality sound hurt both main and second stage on Strokes day unless I was either really close to the stage or, paradoxically, right at the back. Though I gather it was fine for other days, oddly.

Tbf they are meant to be playing the bowl in Milton Keynes and two reunions doesn’t seem likely. Biffy, Rage and Arcade Fire in that instance

sorry for it coming across as aggressive.

Upcoming concert on June 20, 2020 in UK Milton Keynes lmao
